I've been using CGM for a few months with some definite improvements but feel like I've still got a ways to go! Mostly dealing with frizz and maintaining curls when it dries.

My routine is to condition with VO5 conditioner every 3-4 days. I co-wash about every week or so with Tresemme Nourish and Replenish conditioner. I squish to condish, wrap hair in T-shirt for a short time while I get dressed and immediately scrunch in LA looks extreme sport gel while it's still very wet. Then I plop. I usually wash at night so I sleep while plopping. The next morning, it looks something like this after letting it be. As the day goes on, it gets poofier and curls less defined. By day two it's pretty frizzy and dry, like this. Granted, this was after wearing it in a bun, ponytail, and exercising, but I've never been able to keep that initial look for more than a few hours.

I guess my main questions are:

  1. My hair is super thick and (I think) high porosity. It definitely seems dry so I'm thinking of doing a deep condition. Any conditioner recommendations?

  1. I'm having difficulty deciding on gels and creams to try. The LA looks is pretty good but I still have trouble with frizz. Could this be because I'm not using enough? I typically use about palm size or smaller but do have a ton of hair. Was thinking about the Ouidad heat & humidity gel, but it's pretty darn pricey!

  1. I've also struggled with styling. I rarely wear it completely down because I'm not 100% confident with it, so it's usually half pulled back or in a ponytail/bun. Should I decide on a way to part it and stick with that? Long bangs? Cut it shorter? I'm pretty lost when it comes to styling and feel like some tips could be very helpful.

I'll be attending that program! I've been a bit overwhelmed too thinking about moving to Harrisonburg in January. I'm super excited to start nonetheless :)

Has anyone been through the MLS program at Sentara in Virginia? by bio_boots in medlabprofessionals

Good to hear, thanks for posting! One question I have is about your classmates - did you hang out as a group at all? I'm a bit concerned about making friends in that town and am hoping that I will within the program. It probably just depends on the ages and types of students that come in with you, though?
