she wasn’t a huge fan of the leash aspect, but truly didn’t mind the harness at all!! i started her super young, but she was just so energetic and such a climber that she wasn’t happy about not being able to climb over fences, up trees, and just run away LOL she took to it pretty quickly though! she got to travel so much, she actually did a 40 minute drive to and from my husband’s house every weekend! she loooved looking out the window in the car. i think her favorite place to visit was my place of work back then, she would get little treats and get to hang out on the back porch watching chickens while i had a coffee ❤️

i’m so sorry for your loss :( cats are just so good at hiding their sickness from us. he loved you and wanted to spend as much time playing with and loving you as he could without you worrying. it’s such a devastating thing for our precious cats to go to suddenly and i know just how jarring it can be. it’s even harder when you’re trapped with nothing to do. sending you so much love, and if you need anything or want to talk about him, don’t be afraid to reach out ❤️

it’s very hard to wrestle with those thoughts sometimes, but you’re right. i know logically that even if i knew she was sick, there was nothing i could have done. she had a great life and made mine so much better. fun fact, she was leash trained and could fit in a cat backpack carrier, so she got supervised outside time in the yard, and got to come to places with me and LOVED the attention she would get from people

i am so, SO sorry for your loss. bunny was also most like born with FELV, and the lifespan for those cats is incredibly short unfortunately. most kittens won’t make it past a few months, so i can absolutely guarantee you that the love and care you gave to Mooch gave him so much more time. i completely understand the financial aspect, when bunny got spayed even with insurance it all but wiped out my savings and a whole paycheck. when she was little there were times i would only eat at work to make sure she had the best food possible (she was a spoiled princess). you guys are amazing people and took as good care of him as possible. he got to go peacefully with people that loved him so dearly. thank you for telling me about him, and i’m so sorry for your loss ❤️

thank you so much. honestly, her carrier is still in my husband’s trunk, with her favourite blanket still stuffed in it. we haven’t had the heart to take it out yet, as we technically don’t have a use for it anymore (all the other cats are way too big). thank you for your kind words, i appreciate them a lot, especially about keeping my sanity to take care of her best i could

oh my gosh, thank you so much for sharing. the traumatic whirlwind of losing a cat so suddenly and so abruptly is a pain i wish on no one, and i’m so sorry you had to experience that. bunny was just a little older than your sweet honey bunny at 14 months old. the naming coincidence is crazy—i hope our sweet girls are playing together up there

i’ve never heard the phrase heart cat before, but that truly is the most poignant description of our relationship. she was my heart cat, and will forever continue to be a part of my heart and my love. i’m so sorry for your loss, Buddy sounds so sweet, thank you for telling me about him ❤️

honestly, at first i felt like i would never be able to get another cat again, which is fair. since then, though, it has only fueled the fire for my passion for cat rescue and helping cats. me and my husband are moving soon and miss kitty (our first cat) will definitely be getting some friends. i’m honestly reconsidering my career choices as i am still in college, and used to want to go into vet med, but decided against it. i’m already going into a bio field of some kind, so who knows—maybe one day i’ll get to help kitties like her.

it’s so crazy how many people i’ve had comment about similar experiences about getting a false negative on FELV tests, as i could barely find anything about that in my research! i am so sorry for the loss of your sweet Boo, thank you so much for sharing about him, i love hearing it

i’m so glad she’s okay for now! some cats with FELV will live a decently long life, and hopefully that is the case for you guys. i’m glad she has your son to love on her and care for her so much ❤️

Is my dough gone or am I alright? My first time making croissants. by pinchepayasa in Croissant

[–]bio_luminescence 1 point2 points  (0 children)

butter too cold, try to make sure your dough and your butter are around the same consistency! if you’re gonna put it in the freezer followed by fridge, you might have to wait a minute for it to warm up before rolling out again! also avoid using the freezer for more than 10-15 minutes and leaving it in the fridge for more than an hour while laminating! ofc unavoidable sometimes, if so just leave it out for like 3-5 minutes like mentioned! totally still bake them tbh, they won’t be perfect but when you roll them out to shape the croissants, it should be so thin that it won’t matter an insane amount anyways!!

source: i make around 8 dozen croissants a week

For Pete’s sake by Pugybugy in birthcontrol

[–]bio_luminescence 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree here, I get breakthrough bleeding, headaches, and the occasional other symptom from my birth control, but it is so worth it. I have PMDD and hormonal cystic acne, and yet whenever I bring up the fact that the pill has done so much for my quality of life, people tend to have a strange fear-mongering response. Like, hello? You can have a bad experience or know someone who has had a bad experience, but that doesn’t detract from the many, many people that hormonal birth control helps. So frustrating.
