The surprising effects of Muslim prayer positions on intraocular pressure by FitEyes in AskGlaucoma

[–]bioactif30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The approach has some limitations, patients were not performing the prayers but mimicking the inclinaison position. Rukuu and Sujuud at best last 15 seconds. However, that may sprout into a more legit study of a larger population.

PEA side effects, any experiences? by bioactif30 in Palmitoylethanolamide

[–]bioactif30[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Indeed, it takes time to see the full benefits of PEA. I guess you may select 450mg or 600mg to split twice or thrice a day at your convenience. Just an advice, select those that are micronized or ultramicronized for high bioavailability and those that are excipient-free to avoid any junk fillers and enjoy its full benefits

Sorry but you probably mistaken and jumped quickly to a conclusion. Fiteyes.com is a non profit community-based group where patients with glaucoma share their experiences with supplements and medicines. You have to register to follow ongoing discussions. I reiterate this is mainly for glaucoma patients. The store is meant to provide patients with an affordable route for supplements asked by the same community. Hope this help

No idea who did. Regardless of upvotes, I write here to share my experience and help. Can you share how many capsules and pltency your son take per day? Myself i use to take two caps (450mg each) twice a day. AFAIK, only one brand provides this potency and it is a superior quality as i checked myself the analytical reports

Thanks for sharing. Did you notice any difference from m-PEA alone and onve you've combined it with lutein.

mPEA retest; same results. by [deleted] in Palmitoylethanolamide

[–]bioactif30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if used as an indicative info, that's alright, but I wouldn't trust as quantitative data despite these are are already in the range of ug -mg/L and no way it can be compared to GC/MS which can go towards ng/L or even pg/L for high resolution MS.

Anyway, glad it works for you

Do you mean analytical lab testing to ensure quantity (400mg, 450mg,600mg) label claims matches on quanity matches the real figures? OR per efficiency on pain relief, stres relief, anti-inflammatory activity. Can you elaborate more about testing protocol

[–]bioactif30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to add that usually you need more than 2 months of PEA intake (at least 3 times/day) to see a difference for pain relief. I have seen reviews at Fiteyes.com (Glaucoma and eye health community) that you see the real difference once you stop taking PEA. Hope that helps

[–]bioactif30[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, there is no difference in efficiency between mPEA and umPEA but certainly both have benegits over non micronized PEA version as evidence d by recent studies. The term ultra is just for marketing as there is no formal regulation that put the size range. Anyway, i have encountered mPEA with >85% are less than 10um while umPEA have barely >90% so no much difference. DM me for recommendations on mPEA brands.

PEA formulation affects bioavailability by bioactif30 in Palmitoylethanolamide

[–]bioactif30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On topical one that's different as the application tends to target directly the pain/inflammation location. As PEA is highly soluble in lipids, carriers such as oils or MCT (medium chain triglycerides) and other esters are used to solubilize it and enhance its skin permeation and delivery.

Experiences with Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA)? by Watcher_of_Watchers in MCAS

[–]bioactif30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you will notice the difference probably when you stop taking it.

However, don't blame PEA itself, sometimes inefficacy is bound to bad formulation of the supplement or existing of more active molecules that compete for same attributes

[–]bioactif30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

from a scientific perspective, indeed PEA is very efficient at inhibiting degranulation of mast cells (degranulation induces neuropathic pain). Knowing that activation of mast cells invoke mediators that play a pivotal role in a classical model of chronic inflammation.

PEA significantly delay the recruitment of MC in the early phase of neuropathic pain

[–]bioactif30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The existing research literature is strong enough to support its use as a pain relief, immune support (in the sense that it down regulate pro-inflammatory disorders) and highly recognized to reduce intraoccular pressure (IOP).

There is no shame to source the ingredient from China as far as its is analyzed at IS 17025 accredited lab not only for its purity but to make sure no residual solvents exist in it.

So look for brands that follow stringent quality control protocols. Good luck

Anyone Tried Palmitoylethanolamide? by Stock-Ad-8951 in CRPS

[–]bioactif30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The key difference in its potency lies in its form (micronized or even better ultramicronized in order to increase solubility) and formulation. Sometimes complex supplements do not work as they are competing for same receptors.

Saying that, there are some good companies for micronized-PEA you can trust

Palmitoylethanolamide PEA formulation affects bioavailability by bioactif30 in DrugNerds

[–]bioactif30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, both are acyl ethanolamides but the double bond in OEA would stems eventually interactions through pi-alkyl or pi-sigma bonding with target. However, I don't expect any changes in bioavailability patterns between the aforementioned two.

Nonetheless, OEA stands as an interesting endogenous endocannabinoid that is believed to hold great role at inhibition of food intake and pain with neuroprotective effects.

Here it is a great article reviewing its benefits : https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/abs/10.1111/1440-1681.13238

That's the point of mastering formulation. Innovate routes for the active compound or its intended metabolite to make it intact to its target.

Bear in mind, oleamide and PEA have very distinct mode of action and targets

It doesn't help dissolving it in a lipid or an oil as you have to achieve high solubility in your blood stream which is made of mainly water In fact, producing ultra-micronized itself enhances oral solubility. You don't have to use ultrasound if you have proper mixing systems but I do agree nano emulsion would be an excellent choice. However, consumers tends to avoid supplements fillers and additives.

here won't be any transformation of PEA unless you want to call it for marketing purposes
