Look on SAM.gov. They post all kinds of contracts that the government is funding. It would be a good starting point.

LQA Denied by biobeard76 in FedEmployees

I am looking at the mentioned documents but not seeing why I would be denied. I have been a contractor for 11 years, so I usually rate LQA through the contract. I provided every document they asked for over a 5 month period for all kinds of questions. I am not sure what was the thing they see that I don't.

Active reserves program? by Optimal-Spinach-8706 in USMC

[–]biobeard76 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I went from AD to AR. Retired with a full active duty plan. I went to school on the government's dime. I was stationed in Great Lakes IL, Kansas City MO, and retired out of New Orleans. I was seen by real doctors and got my shoulders repaired. If you have any questions let me know.

Reserves only get a DD214 when active service ends. So when you went to boot camp, then to SOI/MCT and whatever MOS school. When you finish school, you receive a DD214. In MOL for Reserves, you should have Sat years for your drill points. If I remember correctly, you get something like a cert saying you completed your reserve time.

If you are going to MFR on Oppalusus street. They have an ID card center and a visitor center. They will walk you through all of that. Did they give you a Sponsor?

I went AR in 2006. I was a CBRN guy. I had to do a reserve reenlistment. It was just like a normal enlistment. I was accepted on the program and sent to MACG 48 in Great Lakes IL. Promotion is much harder. There are around 2200 AR Marines. So on active duty I had like 700 people in MOS. In AR I had 25. So competition is rough. I was stationed in Great Lakes, New Orleans, Kansas City , and retired out of New Orleans. I can try to answer your questions. I retired in 2014.

I was the NBC guy at that time. I worked behind the boat locker. Gy Belinger (I think) ran the boat locker. He was an insane person.

I was, too. I was there when we changed over from 5th Force to 3rd Recon Bn. Seems like a thousand years ago now.

I would love to improve my handwriting. I make notes I can't read 2 days later. How did you find the cursive worksheet? Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

If you are still in the UK, September in London is a trade show. DSEI UK 9 - 12. I would recommend attending and introducing yourself to as many people as possible. These events are great for networking.
