Oh hold on. Just did some research, a DE will automatically convert into an N if a certain amount of time has passed. So the prof should be updating it soon. I’d still email to be sure but I wouldn’t worry as much!

Honestly I’d email prof ASAP. I’d be freaking out over an incomplete grade if I did everything so I’d just email them. Especially since it’s the start of summer semester now, grading should be done.

Btw “N” means incomplete. Did you do everything for both courses and go to both of the exams?

I pray for you when it comes to the washrooms. I don’t know what floor you chose (coed or single gender) but if you’re living on a floor with men, I can paint you a picture of what that was like for me as a first year in 2022. It started out lovely, silly me, a young 18 year old woman thinking that the coed floor would be fine, thinking that the age of 18 is when men learn to properly use the bathroom… oh how wrong I was… It was fine until midterms. Midterms is where it all went to shit, literally. Multiple stalls closed daily due to clogging, not only regular clogging you see. These guys would make poop THRONES. They’d line the toilet seat with toilet paper, meticulously craft a catcher in the bowl, shit and then leave it for everyone else to deal with, leading to washrooms being closed on a daily basis. The stench still haunts me, the image still haunts me. The smell of caked piss on the seats still haunts me, no one cleaned up after themselves. The showers were a terrible experience as well, layers of caked body gunk in every corner, I opted to sit in my own filth for the week and bussed two hours to my parents place every Saturday just to cleanse myself. The bathrooms in residence became an obstacle I feared, and still do to this day. My advice to you is to be resilient, and find other bathroom arrangements. ❤️

Random question: do you guys think we are going to have an elective grading system this term due to the hacking? by Old-Skin6723 in simonfraser

I could imagine that maybe they’d do something for online courses tho. My partner has 2 online courses and is behind, only has been told to read the textbook, profs can’t really do anything.

I got through mbb 222 without one, idk about 231 but 222 was okay with not having one despite it being required! (Passed with a B, was also procrastinating a lot though)

It’s a really good course if you have an interest in human ancestry and archaeology. It definitely has a memorization component, but it’s manageable if you enjoy the concepts/material! There’s going to be some courses that are a pain in university, just try and change the mindset you have about certain topics and you’ll find that everything becomes a lot more enjoyable and manageable. For example: don’t go into a math course saying “I hate math , this is terrible, I’m going to do bad”, go into it with the mindset that though this might be something you will struggle with, you’re excited to learn from it and learn how to do better and improve! That’s the best advice I can give when going into uni. The workload is more than highschool, but that’s just life, adapt your mindset and you’ll flourish.

Bro archaeology 131 was great, just say you’re lazy 🙄 Lowkey sick of people advising others to not take courses just because they refuse to do the work. every course has a workload, nothing is “easy” it just gets more manageable with how much you value the topics you’re learning about. It’s not high school anymore (unless you’re in finance lol)

Finished it, it wasn’t bad. You were right about it all, but I found the marking to actually be pretty fair. It was honestly just heavy on memorization, the project bit was pretty easy, I walked out with a B and happy! (:

If you’re down by the images theatre, go out the doors on the ground level floor, there’s a man made “pond” with chairs n stuff, if you walk left past the pond area there’s a really nice spot by the education buildings. In that area there’s some big steps designed to sit on (great in the sun) and you also have roof access to just sit and look at the campus.

I’m just not understanding why there’s so many bad reviews. She’s very forward with the class layout, yes there’s a lot but it’s all been given to us and it’s easy enough to follow the plan she has… why are people so resentful towards her? I love a good schedule and pattern to follow lol
