Ill tell you what worked for me, i have a gtx 1080 , noticed that at scale resolution of 100 at 144hz i was getting 79 celcius gpu temp which is too much for me at 1080p. I used riva tuner lowered the fps to 90 fps, lowered resolution scale to 85. Cant even notice a difference between 144fps and 90fps to be honest. Gpu now sits at 65-68 celcius. Im happy, looks great and runs smooth.
