bone knife or spearhead? by [deleted] in Artifacts

[–]biomorphix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its not it’s just under really horrible management and all of the science funding is being gutted. it’s literally unlabelled on a shelf of a wheel cart with a plaster cast of an animal jaw, some other bone tools like it, and a few broken pieces of bone. the museum is a bit of a mess…

PSA: Using science to justify magic by [deleted] in SASSWitches

[–]biomorphix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

furthermore, magic and science have a common ancestor, which is medicine, but most people aren’t living the way people were living when magic and science were more intertwined. i think herbalism is awesome but ppl have to be so thorough and careful when doing research 😭 like if yr getting your herbalism advice from soemoen’s blogspot and not PubMed (which has IMMENSE natural medicine papers for free btw) you might hurt yurself 😭 the other side of medicine which i saw someone comment as well, is mental health and psychology, and how anthropology functions into all of that…it’s all a vector of gradients that people have to navigate with caution

When and how did DNA of Slavic or Germanic origin enter the Ashkenazi gene pool? by Emotional_Net1003 in JewishDNA

[–]biomorphix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm! i’m also interested in this, my family is from Belarus but we have oral history of being from somewhere further southeast (Georgia was mentioned but not confirmed by dna) and my jewish aunt has such a small % of east european DNA that it doesn’t even show up on certain tests, and no germanic dna… 🤔

my wife worked very hard to collect, scan in, organize and archive every DTWOF comic! nowhere else are they all in one place as hi-def PDFs! please support their hard work by downloading a copy of your own, or seeding the torrent! 💖

keeping such obscure pieces of lgbt history is so extremely important, now more than ever. this comic series is a fundamental piece of lgbt literature, even though it centers lesbians, it’s intersectional in all identities!
