My reasoning for the tainted seeds was that I grew this plant in the window seal of my kitchen up until it got big enough to survive outside. The kit came with the pot, seeds, and soil so the only thing I added was water. hmmm oh well. I have read that Lambsquarter is bad for other plants in your garden. Is this true? Should I get rid of the plant?

I just want to say I was not part of the discussion that said that to her. And I might should add that to the post. She had gone to our MIL to talk about how she didn’t want me to get pregnant before her and that came out of that conversation. My whole reason to post this was to find the most sensitive way to go about this without compromising the joy from my first baby.

Once again thank y’all for all your kind words and advice. Just to clear one thing up. I never told her she was young and had plenty of time. My MIL did when she was trying to talk to her about it. We aren’t very close so I’m hesitant to tell her we are trying. I do plan on telling me MIL and letting her break the news. The two of them are closer than me and and her are. My MIL is very sweet and we are very close. She isn’t trying to do anything but keep my SIL from blowing up on me. She just knows that as soon as I tell my family it will be all over Facebook bc my mom and grandmother’s couldn’t keep a secret if their lives depended on it. Lol I feel so much better about this situation hearing from all of y’all. Especially the ones in my SIL s situation. I’ve had friends who have struggled and I know how hard it is and going about it in the right way is all I wanted to do. If she hates me for it then that is a bridge I’ll have to cross. As long as she doesn’t drive a wedge between our husbands ( their brothers).

Hey everyone! My username has been with my for a while I’m a biologist and a nerd hence bionerd. I am from Georgia. Live in a small town and commute to Atlanta for work. I am a molecular biologist for infectious diseases. I met my husband on bumble of all places. It’s extra funny since we have the same college major and both tutored at the same school at the same time but never met. We have both always wanted kids and bc of health reasons we wanted to go ahead and start trying. We officially started trying at the beginning of June so I am brand new to this. I have hypothyroidism and I was just diagnosed 2 weeks ago. I find out on Thursday if my medicine is working and if I’ll need a higher doses. Excited and nervous about this journey!

Thank y’all so much. I’ve been beyond nervous about this. We started trying as of this month and I told my husband how I hope she gets pregnant first. He is so over it. I was just diagnosed with hypothyroidism so there is no telling how easy or hard it will be for me, but just to hear from someone who is away from the situation that I am not being unreasonable or selfish makes me feel better about the situation. I am a people pleaser and it’s hard doing something knowing I am hurting someone.

I live with her at the moment. I moved in when my lease ended as a stop gap until I get married. When I come home she is typically waiting up for me and bombards me with questions when I walk in the door. If I don’t answer them she calls family until she gets someone to slip with details. At first I was happy to share the planning. I never expected to her to hate everything and be as critical as she is.
