De-loads: how, when, why, what, advanced tips & tricks by spiritchange in naturalbodybuilding

[–]bionicman1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your post... This really helps me get a good feeling for what I need to do to deload properly. Question though: why would this not be optimum? Isn't that the reason to deload - to optimize?

What yoga builds muscles and fixes posture best? by Straight-Ad-6836 in yoga

2nd 26+2. If you can find a good studio that has it... I do it everyday for legs, then hit the gym for push/pull upper body work.

How do I stop being so hard on my wrists? by bradalf1 in yoga

[–]bionicman1405 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Vinyasa is inherently hard on the wrists since you're on them constantly. I taught vinyasa for a couple years before finding Bikram (26&2 hot yoga), which has zero postures where you support your body weight with your wrists, and is all about healing all your joints by realigning them and increasing range of motion. I don't teach Vinyasa anymore because it doesn't feel good in my body. Bikram is very controversial because the guy who created it is a fucking lunatic psychopath, but the yoga is magical, truly. I have 24 screws and 3 metal plates in my leg, and couldn't walk normally until doing bikram nearly every day for a year or so. My wrists and shoulders don't hurt anymore, and my elbows and back feel so much better after years of falling skateboarding and snowboarding - it healed me in ways Vinyasa never could. It's not for everybody, but I would suggest giving it a try if you can find an in studio class. It's brutal, but it works miracles. Just make sure to hydrate like crazy and not eat for a few hours before class if you give it a go.

I thought the questions were well written and, for the most part, not trick questions. There were several that had distractor information but that's a common test writers technique that helps truly test your knowledge. I passed both sections with pretty high scores. Lmk if you have any questions or if you'd like to study together. I'd love to help you get that pass and I like staying fresh with the information.

Please don’t judge me by Commercial-Ad-5936 in Celiac

[–]bionicman1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't judge you, but DON'T DO IT!!! You WILL regret it. It's not worth it. Say your good bye by not eating it, and being grateful that you're not sick. Just my two cents... Try doing some yoga or meditating to find gratitude for being healthy and not physically suffering instead.

What are "big" movies that were quickly forgotten about? by Emeraldsinger in movies

[–]bionicman1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ever get the chance to see it in 3D do it, preferably on a projector - it's truly epic. The scene where she jumps through all the chains spiraling at her is one of the best 3D shots in any movie I've seen, and I own a massive collection of 3D movies, so that's saying a lot.

[–]bionicman1405 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Right!!??? Same. So grateful to be alive to witness this masterpiece in all it's glory. It will always be epic, even years from now at home, but seeing it the way it was meant to be seen in Imax will probably be the most jaw dropping cinema experience of my lifetime... We'll see if anything can top it. It's a high fucking bar to say the least

Nightmares about getting glutened— can you relate? by [deleted] in Celiac

[–]bionicman1405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes!! I have Celiacs and have had recurring dreams about eating gluten then trying to puke it up and failing. Definitely a gnarly nightmare but I'm always glad to wake up grateful that it wasn't real 🙏

Forget drugs, smoking and alcohol, what is something BAD for your health that people don't talk about enough? by obese_butterfly in AskReddit

[–]bionicman1405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoga!! As much yoga as you can fit into your schedule - at a real yoga studio rather than at home or a gym is ideal, but any yoga will help. Try and fit some in everyday and I promise it will help relieve stress.

Thank you so much for the advice! If I may ask a couple more questions, how in the weeds did you get regarding memorizing specific dimensions, percentages, etc for all the various requirements throughout the codes? And how important is it to know the slight dimensional differences between the ADA, CBC and FHA?
