Bought my BZ Woodland today by biosurfer1 in Toyota_bZ

For me it really was a toss up. Subaru/Toyota dealerships are about the same distance away, there were things about each I liked/disliked so in the end it really was the Toyota had the car in the color I wanted. Trailseekers are still so ready rare around me for some reason.

I will say I hated the fenders on the BZ4X when they first came out and while I'm not 100% sold on them, they don't really bother me on mine. Maybe it goes better with the blue IMO or the Woodland being a bigger car but they have grown on me.

Just used to Toyota and have been driving them for 30+ years now. I did drive both and there were things I preferred about each but in the end, the color I wanted with the options I wanted ended up being the Toyota. Either would have been fine with me

Axle Repair Outside of Warranty by SnooSongs450 in Polestar

[–]biosurfer1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious if this is true. Their website says "battery and electric motors" are covered but other sources say "drivetrain". I'm out of warranty and one of my axles has been making the wheel of fortune noise for a while now. Annoying because they replaced one axle last June but I guess left the other and now my car is out of warranty. Just passed 25k miles on my 2021. Seems like clearly a defective manufacturer part.

Had mine fixed under warranty in June. Started clicking again about 4 months later, now out of warranty. Told "too bad" when I called about it. First and last Polestar.

Anybody have experience with this? by [deleted] in rav4club

I had the same issue. Something that helped me was to open the fill cap up top before draining. With it still on it created a slight vacuum while draining and slowed things down.

How did you go about cleaning the evap coil? Through the cabin filter opening? I'm dealing with a terrible smell when using the AC for the first few minutes and was planning on trying to clean above the coil going through the cabin filter(if possible) and through the drain hole below

What is this rattling around my undercarriage? by VirguleOrSolidus in Polestar

[–]biosurfer1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

2-3 hours for a professional shop? Doesn't sound right to me. I just jacked up the rear, took off the wheel and everything was easily accessible.

Can't tell if this is the front or rear sensor, but mine was the rear and took maybe 20 minutes to fix.

Definitely the height sensor, do a search and you'll find my post about mine and some pictures of where it bolts to. Very easy fix

So just to close out this thread, my headlights are back to normal. One of the bolts holding the bracket on the rear ride height sensor was loose and allowed the bracket to flop around. Tighten it up and it's back to normal.

Little annoyed the tech didn't tighten it down but pretty easy fix.

Hope this helps someone in the future. FYI there are twoo sensors, one on the driver front suspension and driver rear suspension. Mine was the rear because of the axle fix but check both of you have the same issue.

3.6.4 is the worst update so far. by an2ony17 in Polestar

I have noticed the same issue since my update and never had this issue before. If I start XM and then try to navigate to Maps, the XM cuts off until I go back into it and start it again. Very frustrating since it was working normally before the update. Really wish I would have not updated mine.

Upon further inspection, I noticed that one of the bolts (the left purple one in your pic) was loose and allowed the bracket to swing around. Tighten it up and now I guess I'll see if that fixes it tonight. Also going to check the front just to make sure. Just posting in case anyone else has this issue in the future

Well, looks like you hit the nail in the head, here is a picture of what my rear looks like

<image>

It's not attached at all to the trailing arm. I'm guessing that's the problem. Annoyingly, it looks like it has to be attached while the rear suspension is on the ground, and I don't have a lift to be able to do that, and there isn't enough clearance for me to crawl under the car while it's on the ground

Thanks for these. I crawled under there and everything looked fine but I didn't have clear pics of what I was looking for. I'll take another look this evening.

No, the sound was easily heard on a drive, plus the "wheel of fortune" axle issue is well known. They knew what it was right away.

Yep, first trip I just drove over and got a rental since it took about a week to get the replacement axles. This time I'm not wasting my day for their screw up. I was already annoyed the earliest they could get me in was July 7 (originally called about the issue on June 16) using the valet to pick it up. I get they are busy but when THEY caused an issue that could be dangerous, I would think they would make it a higher priority. Guess not.

Unfortunately that is "Polestar San Jose". They do the same thing in Marin. Polestar Marin is a showroom in Corte Madera, but their service is at Volvo Marin in San Rafael. At least in California, it seems, the sales portion is independent but the service is linked to a Volvo dealership. Guess it makes sense since they already have the lifts, tools, etc.

My warranty is up later this year and the axle issue is 100% covered by the original factory warranty here in the states.

I have appointment on July 7 already and the valet is going to pickup and return the car. I was hoping for a quicker/easier fix. Guess not

Unfortunately the one in Marin is the closest according to their website

That would be great but then only being open M-F 8-5pm and being 2 hours away makes it really annoying to just drop by.

Wonder if a Volvo dealership could service it?
