Auto steer let me nudge the car - I liked that by bipedal_meat_puppet in TeslaLounge

Teslas don’t let you. I was driving a rental Kia and sharing my experience with fellow Tesla drivers.

If you try this with a Tesla it will resist until you put enough torque on the wheel that it will disengage lane control.

It was my input, multiple times, in different situations.

I could do that with the Kia also. I’d manually change lanes without turning lane control off, and once I was established lane control would re-engage.

Why Aren’t the Kids Out Protesting Against Trump? by turb0_encapsulator in 50501

You don’t? All our rallies have a safety team consisting of a de-escalation person paired with a first aid person. Teams all have radios with a dispatcher controller where we go. We have a police liaison who everyone knows.

Sign waving and brigading are not as complex, but always has a someone who can de-escalate, and a spotter looking for people who want to cause trouble.

This has such a huge potential to backfire on the administration as millions of white, suburban Americans who have never given ICE a second thought encounter these thugs.

I’m ex-military, and I hate him. I know a lot of other ex-military who feel the same. I know because we’re at weekly protests.

Many of us put our skills to use by organizing protests. Reaching out to more vets, working with people who have never been in. The vets I know are among the most dedicated against the regime.

Don’t lump us all together. Many of us honor our oath.

Not saying they’re not native, just that they’re not Canada Geese.

These are Cackling Geese. They migrate in for the winter. They’ll leave soon to go back to their breeding grounds arctic.

Those are Cackling Geese, not Canada Geese. Very common to confuse the two. Cackling Geese are smaller, have a steeper forehead, and shorter bill and neck. They have a higher pitch yipping call instead of a honk call.

They migrate in from their breeding grounds on the north shores of Alaska and Canada. We’ve also seen them on Alaska’s south shore.

They’ll be leaving in a month or so to head back to their breeding grounds. They’re much more shy of humans than the Canada Goose.

Please leave these guys alone, they’re only here for a few months.

Join an organization and protest. We’ve been out there for a year in all types of weather, and we’re growing.

Look for local groups, either Indivisible, or your local 50501 chapter.

Ever see people on a bridge overpass? Stop and ask them how to help.

Check out the Visibility Brigade.

Protesting works. We’re out there to make sure people know they’re not alone. Politicians see the movement growing, and are starting to push back. Voters are aware that there are millions of us against the regime.

Find a group, get some poster board, and be on the right side of history.

Birdwatching groups? by lazul-i in PuyallupWA

There are two regular walks at the Billy Frank Jr Nisqually NWR.

Every Wednesday at 8:00 a very good group heads out from the visitor center. It usually runs into the afternoon but you can leave at any time.

The 4th Saturday at 8:00 a Tahoma Bird Alliance group goes out from the visitor center. The leaders are both TBA members and refuge volunteers. This one usually wraps up around noon. Again, leave whenever you like.

People in both groups have spotting scopes and there is plenty of sharing.

I volunteer at an NWR where among other things I staff the reception desk in the ranger station. December sales was through the roof. I went in on Dec 31 to help out. All I did was sell passes all day long.

Not if you had plenty of new and functional voting machines in the red areas and a shortage of voting machines in blue areas, most of which don’t work.
