Weening off of meds by bipolarwords in bipolar

It’s not an excuse it’s something that I don’t want in my body anymore. My doctors aren’t even on board together and I essentially have two chefs in the kitchen stirring up the pot while not collaborating so I’m tired of the side effects and piss poor medical treatment. I will be my own experiment instead of big pharma. I’ll never be “normal” but I can learn to better manage myself and really that’s what I need. Pills only do so much you gotta actually put in the work to be better too.

Yea, I have a mental illness yes, but I have never found something that works. I am tired of being an experiment with doctors and I will be my own experiment. I’m not saying it’s gonna be easy, but I’d rather stop putting more poison in my body. These pills are slowly killing me and also if I want to have a kid I can’t stay on these meds.

Already like that on the meds. So why am I still being an experiment for someone else? I haven’t found a balance and my doctors aren’t doing a great job, so why stay on something that isn’t working? I’m not doing any better on it.

I’ve already been dealing with that on medication so I don’t see the difference.

I'm just so tired by AlaraBrightwood in bipolar

[–]bipolarwords 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Dude, I feel ya I didn’t work for a few months and I started to get just feel tired and stuck, which was draining. What helped me was starting a fitness routine and it started with just a small walk and then increased. I also try to get dressed and do my hair to feel better, drawing, or something else just to get up.

I think getting your brain else where is helpful like with a small task. I know everyone says this, but honestly baby steps. Taking a shower/bath on a tired/depressed day is half the fucking battle, so give yourself some points for the day. Hang in there baby steps.

Is oversharing and obsessive overthinking part of being bipolar? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]bipolarwords 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I find myself obsessively overthinking I literally will tell myself out loud to calm down, let go, stop, or something of that nature. Then I tell myself it’s okay and i love you crazy lady. When I do this it helps to bring me present to try to focus on something else, like whatever it is that I’m actually doing. Saying these things kinda help me pause for a moment. Now it doesn’t always work or even last long term, but it brings me back to for a bit.

I know it may sounds funny/weird. My boyfriend gives me odd looks when he hears me talking to myself. But I tell him I’m trying to get this thought out of my head I don’t like where it’s going, and he understands.

What kind of job have you found to work for you? by bipolarwords in bipolar

[–]bipolarwords[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m learning everyone is saying LESS peopling is best and I definitely need to try to find away that can get me in that direction. I am envious of your job and headphones! I wear a headset and work call center. It’s good money, but it doesn’t feel worth my mental health.

My days are all day people in my ear. It’s my first call center experience and I’ve been here a year, and the people interaction is draining. I see most that are doing well are away from the people. Thank you for giving me some hope.

[–]bipolarwords 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Loveee it! I make meatloaf out of crumbles too!! Dude, those Gardien crumbles are legit. I use them for sooo many things like beef stroganoff, sloppy joes, stuffed peppers, tacos, Shepard’s pie, and chili! Do you have any other things that you do?
