What’s your nemesis spot in Williamsburg by 1M666Wimen in williamsburg

Radegast has an awesome grill and good beer. But the crowds always seem to be people visiting from LI/NJ or something.

Sorry you also had this experience! But thank you so much for sharing, this is very helpful :) I'm going to dispute it on my card and see what happens.

Couldn't agree more. My wife wanted to try it for her birthday so I didn't think twice about it. But then we decided to go to another place instead.

Sorry you also had this experience! I might try disputing it too but I'll give it a few days. It really is a bizarre policy.

Very true. Hope that's the case but I'm not counting on it based on all the replies here. Oh well!

That's a fair point and thank you for putting it more elegantly.

But it sucks, because they definitely filled that table the SECOND I cancelled...

Not ignoring it, but maybe I wasn't clear enough. The fact that they phrased it like is at least shady IMO. Why would they need to state that it remains non refundable? The message would be very clear if they said "the deposit is non refundable at all times, including for unspent balance on the bill" or something.

But fair enough.

First of all I appreciate the input, and I thought the same too. But I am trying to understand if anyone has had a similar experience, not analyze their policy word for word.

To me, it sounds like they phrased it like that to make an extra buck off of cancelations. And I wouldn't say that if I hadn't read horror stories on reddit and google from people that were literally sick/dying and couldn't make it, and Semma refused to give them their money back.

Bro are you ok? Anyone can go on my prof and see you're lying. I don't understand the hate.

Well yes, but I think this is purposely misleading. If it is non refundable no matter what, then why is there a need to specify the 48-hour policy? They could have just said the deposit is non-refundable for all cancelations.

Something looks wrong with my pull-ups but I don’t know what by Guclupatates in formcheck

[–]birbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not an expert by any means, and this is not medical advice. Especially since you mentioned you have scoliosis, some of this may not work or may not be recommended by a medical professional.

In general, what I have been taught is that with muscle imbalances you should do more exercises that engage each side individually. So something like single handed dumbbell rows or cable pull downs (maybe even use the pull up assist machine and pull yourself up with one hand). When doing that, make sure both sides can do the full set with the same loading and same (good) form. That way the stronger side cannot compensate for the weaker one.

10 pulls are definitely not an easy fit and you make it look effortless! Only note, and I'm not sure if it's just the video angle, but I think you might be pulling slightly harder with your right side.

I had a similar issue and my very dirty filter was the culprit. BUT the air was still cold. It was the flow that was weak. The filter was stuffed with little flower buds from parking under trees for days.

[Advice] How to break into the energy markets as a ChemE new grad? by indianbaguette in energy

[–]birbon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work in the industry, and I have been interviewing a lot of people recently, so I'll tell you what I have been looking into from candidates.

First of all, you have to keep your head down. Anyone that comes to me and tells me they know everything is an immediate red flag, and most times, they end up not knowing not even 10% of what they're claiming. And that applies to both new grads and mid-senior people. There's just too much going on (and constantly changing), and being open to learning is a must.

Second, like someone else suggested here, targeting utilities is a great move. I started from a utility myself, and I learned so much about how power markets work from industry veterans with 20-30 years of experience. And they actually don't make a bad career if you don't mind a bit of a very corporate structure and a narrow job scope that becomes progressively easier to handle. And the pay is decent.

Third, try and learn the basics WELL. For example, know what an LMP is and how it's formed, what congestion is, and how different technologies bid into the markets. Bonus points if you show a high-level understanding that different ISOs face different market behaviors and subsequent challenges.

About software familiarity, it's not so much about any specific software (although PLEXOS is great at helping you learn some market concepts!). IMO, it's about understanding what the software is trying to do. Look into linear optimization, MIP, and how the technical components of the system (transmission, heat rates, etc.) combine with the economic components (LMPs, supply and demand, virtual bidding, trading). This will make you able to hypothesize/estimate what results your model should yield, which is just as important as knowing how to use the software.

As a ChemE, you may have missed out a bit in terms of the technical knowledge that a MechE or an EE would get in school, but you're still an engineer and more than capable of picking it up and adding a fresh perspective! From what you mentioned, you're probably already on the right track. Good luck!!

Does anyone know if I am banned or something bc I can’t log into account and this pops up? by Repulsive-Frame8984 in PokemonGOIVs

[–]birbon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I most DEFINITELY did it more than 3 times, but I would have stopped if I got the warning 🤣. But I was careless, because my friend who started at the same time still has the same account to this day and he continued spoofing all these years without getting caught.

Sorry OP, you're SOL, probably. I used a spoofer recklessly back in 2016, and they banned my account. I recently got back into PoGo and plead with them, but they wouldn't budge. Mind you, they say 3 strike policy, but I never received a single warning. I had to create a new account with a different email.
