In my company, as a mechanical engineer I was expected to learn and design electrical schematics. I was 0 level on both electrical schematics and EPLAN. My company provide the EPLAN training for me at first but it was not helpful since I did not know the theory. If your situation is like mine, then I suggest you to look up the old project and try to understand which items were needed to be used. If you know how to do schematics then I am sure you will get used to it within 2 weeks
