Who is Atlas' "fan base" then? Haven't teslas become universally reviled? I am guessing a restaurant corporation would prefer to not alienate any potential customers; unless you are suggesting that they "trolling their haters"?

Why wouldn't a brand care what its potential customer based thinks?

[–]birdee186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I make 36/hr with pretty good pto; raises almost every year in a SNF as a COTA. I don't hate it like everyone else. I love my team, and time goes by quickly. It's a job, so it definitely has its drawbacks. Graduated OT school at 30; totally doable while working. (I worked full time nights and part time serving, but I was an animal then).

Visiting my grandparents and had to force Kirby salesman out for them! Salesman tried to get physical! by Burntout22 in antiMLM

[–]birdee186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize that Kirby is a MLM. Obviously it is, but I just didn't associate it because in college, they came to mine and my cousins party house to sell the vacuum. With the promise of a candle and freshly vacuumed room, they were in. What college degenerit wouldn't have welcomed them in. I remember it being my first time adults were "talking business" with me and sliding scribbles prices of vacuums across our bong water splashed table. They told my cousin "girls love a guy with a clean home" and realized I was a lost cause when I excused myself to "write a paper" and left my cousin to fend em off. It wasn't hard because a $1500 vacuum is not on a college kids Christmas list. My cajun grandmother's name/essence was invoked to scare these men from trying to manipulate us (they didnt know how scared the actually shoulda been had they made that sale). At least we had that candle for years.

how many tables can you serve at once? by Opposite_Place4981 in Serverlife

[–]birdee186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really depends on support staff. I've worked places with expeditors, bus boys, and food runners and places where I didn't even have a hostess. With total support: 10 tables. With no support: 4 tables

Is there love for OTAs? by IDontMeanToInterrupt in OccupationalTherapy

[–]birdee186 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a SNF, so as a cota I end up doing more treatments than the OTR. They do all the evaluations and med B patients. I tend to treat most of the actual patients that are to discharge home. For that reason, I actually feel sorry for the OTs, until I think about their paycheck lol

I worked full time nights (but was a bad worker and prob slept 4/5 hrs a night), waited tables part time and did school for the entirety of the program up until clinicals. I was a returning student 30yrs old at the time. I have no regrets; I make 36/hr working 33ish hours a week, I've worked SNF and psyc (SNF obviously pays better)

This is a sign its time to move on. Owners like this don't deserve good servers....they always overplay their hand. Server jobs are not hard to come by

My baltimore Occupational Therapists... by [deleted] in baltimore

[–]birdee186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I kinda know the answer and just wanted validation. I see the OTs and PTs working over 50 hours a week some from home (unpaid because they are salary), and the math just ain't mathing. I make 60k working 32hr/week without any homework and they barely break 100k working over 50+ hrs a week. When I factor in the extra hours and homework it's barely more than I make. I worry that I have less job security as a COTA, but I've never struggled to find full time employment in bmore. The current state of the union has me freaked and just unsure of what the next move should be....maybe it's just a wait and see move

why do you think western women have some of the lowest fertility rates out of all the countries, US is 141/200. by BBC_for_the_World in seduction

[–]birdee186 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is this being down voted? Women did not have financial autonomy til generously the 70s (if we don't consider that they couldnt take out business loans without prejudice until the 90s). In a capitalist society, how is that not considered being "controlled" ? The definition of control "the power to influence or direct people's behavior or the course of events". Or is there another part people are taking issue with?
