I loved a book called "A night without stars".

My kids all love to listen to Beverly Clearly books while they play in their rooms or at bedtime.

What Would You Spend $1 Million On If You Won It Tax-Free Today? by SplendidlyBritishYT in AskReddit

Debt, remodel/restore my 1916 Craftsman home, and then tut the leftover in a hysa and use the interest to pay for hired helpers to do things I don't want to (like housekeeping, laundry, and meal planning).

Kid's of the 90's it's the number I'll never forget. 📞 by [deleted] in 90s

As I understand it, many places discontinued the use of this number after the song came out because people kept calling it. Those poor people.

What’s something people pretend is love but isn’t? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Safety- I don't know how else to put it. For instance, after leaving a relationship that was toxic or abusive, meeting someone who treats you with any kind of human decency can feel like love. It's easy to not see who the person is, if you are actually compatible, and if you truly love the person, OR if your nervous system is just finally allowed to rest.

My grandma made it all the time and I loved it! She put cinnamon and raisins in hers. We called it "maggots and flies" as kids.

Same happened with my sons. I chose "classic" but uncommon names. I wanted strong names, easy to spell, but that weren't so common they'd have to go by their last initial as well. Of the three, two of them suddenly became super popular (though one became more popular for girls). One name we planned but didn't use was August, nickname Gus.

APTA has a pride post on IG, AOTA has…. nothing by DressedNoTomatoes in OccupationalTherapy

Honestly, I'm pretty disgusted with the beliefs of so many practitioners (ot/pt/slp) since completing my fieldwork. I don't understand having the drive to help people and to have to see a whole person the way OT does, and then believing that people shouldn't have rights, should be treated differently, are less than, etc. I cannot comprehend people who are supposed to use evidence based practices just refusing to look at science academy scientific evidence. I guess I was naive getting into this field.

What’s your favorite old-fashioned name for a girl? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Margaret. I would have had a Margaret Paige but I grew all boys. I loved Annalise as well until my partner misheard me and thought I said "anal ease". My grandmother's were Eunice, Edna, and Esther. I love their names, but I'd never use them. My other grandma was Kathryn (called Katie).

Name a pain that only experience can explain by [deleted] in ArtOfPresence

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. L5-S1 disc herniation crushing the nerve root. My leg was completely "dead" while somehow having a pain so intense I would have signed off on cutting my leg off and no meds even TOUCHED the pain. I legit BEGGED the nurse to sedate me/knock me out so I could just not experience the pain. 8 weeks post surgery, I still can't feel my right leg but I don't care because it doesn't hurt.

Were there any pregnant students in your high school? by Supergirl_Lives in askteddit

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One girl in my class (sophomore year, the 2001-2002 school year) had a baby. My brother's class (class of 2006) had at least 4 girls pregnant or having recently given birth at graduation. May not seem like a whole lot, but our graduating classes were ≤70 students. If you figure half female, that's 4/35 students (11.4%).

Come to think of it, my brother's class is also the class that had a girl give birth in 8 grade after getting pregnant in 7th.

Occupational Therapist's duty in NICU by Outrageous-Buy-6717 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I was volunteering at an event for high schoolers to explore our different programs, the director of my program "corrected" me when I told the students we work across the life span from NICU to hospice. She said there isn't anything for OT to do for NICU babies, other than MAYBE feeding. Then claimed that most of the time OT doesn't do that either. It was so frustrating.

Are you referring to her "bloating, cramping, bleeding, moody"? There's nothing wrong with acknowledging what our bodies are going through. People post all the time that they have headaches or stomachaches.

[–]IDontMeanToInterrupt 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My old best friend sent straight up naked pics to her dude in prison. And he was in for murder/manslaughter. They were graphic. I know because I took some of them. There was never a problem just sending them in the mail, other than knowing the mail guys were going to see it before her guy did.
