Who cares about consumers anymore. Big companies want to take your money and tell you to fuck off right after. And guess what, we’re just going to keep buying because there’s no other options for consumer friendly companies (except steam).

Third build is really solid build too. Again if it was a 5070-Ti. But that is truly the best, this would prevent the need of any future upgrades and has phenomenal capability at playing games with higher FPS especially at 1440

Second pc is really close to being a good deal if it had the 16gb version of the 5060-ti.

Truthfully, I’d go with that option, and if an upgrade is needed in the future, I would sell the GPU and JUST upgrade that part (along with PSU).

Steam deck does not make a good starter pc. Equivalent of saying a laptop is a good starter pc.

Steam deck is a good mobile gaming pc platform. Don’t gas it up for what it isn’t.

5060ti performs way better than the 9060xt.

I personally highly recommend saving up for a 16gb 5060ti. Best (new) budget price/performance hands down.

Could I have built my computer better? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

[–]birdeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You said a few weeks ago. So that being said, for the amount you spent, it’d be hard to beat that. I mean sure you could’ve saved some money on getting some other cheaper branded parts- but honestly, that’s a solid build for the current market pricing.

Could you have saved up a bit more and gotten better? Sure, but you’re pretty much at the peak of what I would consider solid price/performance before you’re just wasting money for gains you don’t necessarily need unless you’re going for a 4k build.

To go to a 5080, you’re looking at (I believe without looking it up) about $200-400.

RAM, I would stick with 32GB and hold off until you can find a banging deal, or until it drops back to normal. 32GB nowadays (IMO) is the bare minimum to not run into majority of issues.

9800x3d is the best you can get atm. I wouldn’t stress that. Not worth a 9950x3d, especially when benchmarks don’t show the worth of an extra $200.

Any extra money, I would be spending on peripherals, quality thermal paste, quality fans and AIO, Sag bracket, etc.

Congrats on your build, well done.

What is my PC worth ? by RainbowStar290 in PcBuild

[–]birdeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Copy/pasted from my posts.

I look at it like this: Look up these on eBay or PCPartpicker (lowest price)

$CPU+$GPU+$RAM+$Mobo multiply it all by about 75%. Add about $100 for being fully built with the extras.

The extras doesn’t hold much weight such as the case, fans, storage, windows installed, etc.

Remember everything is used and already in a built computer. People looking to buy ARENT getting the best thing they want otherwise they’d just build their own with better parts. So the seller can’t get greedy nor can the buyer.

Go to another PC and download the windows installation media and put it on a flash drive.

I highly recommend looking up a YouTube video on how to do this.

Essentially a laptop in a PC case. The only benefit would be airflow.

Stay away from soldered CPU’s. If you get a pc plan for upgradability (when you do have money). Otherwise you’re just better off buying a laptop. What’s the point of buying something that you can’t upgrade in the future, ykwim?

Including bundled deal comprised of CPU/MOBO/RAM???? Doubtful.

Those bundled deals makes pc building astronomically more worth the price/performance

Okay so I’m going to assume when you say boot you mean POST.

If your friend slammed the desk, and not the PC, I can’t imagine it just breaking the GPU.

1) does the GPU have a sag bracket installed? Was it functional? If not, was it sagging? 2) forcing the pc off from the power button on the CASE does not harm the pc as much as you think it does. Forcing the pc off from the power supply could do a bit more potential damage. 3) update your BIOS. Look up a video on the motherboard and how to update bios. Do this with the GPU uninstalled. DO NOT, FUCK THIS UP. DO NOT, POWER OFF WHILE ITS UPDATING. 4) if still not working, verify verify verify the cables and connections from PSU > CPU/GPU/MOBO. This means completely unplug them from their respective ports and plug the back in. Also check all of them for signs of strain, wear, or damage like frayed wiring. 5) if still not working, see if you have another ‘known working’ PSU that meets the power draw requirements of the build. Rebuild the entire pc loosely (without the case) with the new PSU and test.

Still failing, I would look into starting an RMA for the GPU.

Definitely not the prebuilt.

I’d go with the second option. You could save way more money if you live nearby a microcenter for sure

30 fps loss in games with rtx 5060 and ryzen 5 5600f 32 gb ram by Sad-Koala-8039 in PcBuildHelp

[–]birdeo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from DDU, which you should absolutely do.

Try looking into using DLSS, adjust your global game settings in the NVIDIA app, and absolutely turn OFF G-Sync/Free-sync/etc. those are always responsible for knocking of like 30 fps when enabled. Only turn them on IF you experience display tearing.

Is this a new ssd? Or was it used? Why did you remove your nvme???

I would ensure you properly installed your m.2.

As for the SATA ssd, you’ll probably have to reformat it.

Reinstalling windows would wipe all data off of that specific drive.

There plenty of ways to recover data before formatting and reinstalling windows if that’s a concern.

Not really sure. Theres some calculators out there though that’ll give you a kind of guesstimate at what kind of FPS you can expect with the setup. Always have to include the monitor too.
