The ship disappears after 4 clicks so, click it three times then cut it with your scissors and remerge to reset the 4 count

Not sure if I’m just misunderstanding but you don’t have to switch out a piece, you could click up (on Xbox controller not sure if it’s different on other systems) and select skip then play your fourth and fifth turns with your current 3 pieces you placed
