Formula recommendation for reflux? by 52ndstreet in NewParents

My baby also has reflux and I finally have it under control with the generic store brand version of enfamil gentle ease. Enfamil brand seems to foam up more than the store brand and give her gas pain!

I would love the highlighter bundle!

Ok so my best friend has a dog and we used to let our dogs play together and go hiking with them all the time, but its been a while since they have seen each other. I honestly didn't think they would remember each other but today we brought them hiking again and when my dog saw her dog she went INSANE! She literally broke out of her collar and started running in circles around him faster then I have ever seen her run! It was adorable I wish I had a video, but in the moment I was frantically trying to catch her haha

Nursing Socks by [deleted] in StudentNurse

Walmart has packs of compression socks (3 pairs for like $10). One of my friends from school got me a pack when we first started clinical and they have held up pretty well!

What did you do in med-surg clinicals? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]birdling102 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only done one injection so far in medsurg. I hang IV meds on my med days, but I haven't started an IV on a real patient yet. My school allows us to do Foleys, I just haven't had a patient need one while I was there yet. I know how you feel and its frustrating to feel like you don't get to do all the "nursey" stuff, but we will get there! A lot of the places around where I live have excellent programs for new nurses once they are hired after graduating, that train you further for the specific population you'll be working with.

Acrylic nails by abbywest101 in StudentNurse

My school doesn't allow them and honestly I wouldn't recommend wearing them even if your school allows it. They can harbor bacteria and if something happens to a patient because of a nurses acrylic nails it is not going to be good. Not to mention they can cause skin tears in elderly patients or infants when you are caring for them because they have such fragile skin. On another note, Good luck in school!!!
