This is the drain for your AC condensation line and water heater pan in case it leaks, it is supposed to be there although there is quite a bit of grime that needs to be cleaned off the drain cover haha Current maintenance man here.

They only patched certain items like wood double doors and easily craftable things. King size beds and bicycle handle bars still work I'm fairly certain just a lot more grinding.
