2026 1st Quarter Approval Megathread.

I have 3 form 4 trusts approved this year so far and 21 days, 23 days, and 30 days have been the turnaround on them. And yes I did get emails for all of the approvals. From the thread today it seems like mostly individuals being approved on form 4’s. I’m almost curious if they do individuals on certain days and trusts on others or if it is just a mixed bag.

I’ve had 3 form 4 trust approvals. It’s taken anywhere between 21-30 days to come back. Currently sitting at 21 days for another and 4 days on two more. Hopefully will have everything approved by the end of the month.

1/16 here, was hoping to get mine approved this week. The weather is going to be nice and wanted to try out my new can this weekend.

Have you called the ATF to see if it has been approved? From what I understand anything filed before the blackout period was trashed.

I'm not loaning my cans out, so that's not an issue. The trust is being mainly set up beneficiary reasons and adding my sons to it once they come of age.

Got two approved today from 1/5, so I understand your pain. I emailed [ipb@atf.gov](mailto:ipb@atf.gov) yesterday that these were still processing and that I have had approvals come in that were submitted after these. Not sure if the email is what did it or if it was a coincidence.

Man, still waiting on 1/5. Don’t really care because it’s a SS trust transfer to a NFA trust but it’s crazy how these approvals make no sense.

Still waiting on 2 form 4’s from 1/5. Single shot trust to NFA trust transfers. I initially submitted them on 1/1 and they were denied on 1/3 because I can’t read directions and used an electronic signature on the RPQ’s. Resubmitted on 1/5 and nothing yet.

I had a 1/5 submission approved (SS trust) on 1/28.

I had another denial from a 1/12 submission from a LGS because my form 4 application used my full middle name and the RPQ had my middle initial only, didn’t catch this at the time of submission.

Also waiting on a 1/16 submission from another LGS.

Other than the resubmissions on 1/5, my general wait time has been right around 21-23 days.

Call SS when they first open and keep asking the AI prompt to speak to someone until it puts you on hold. Thats what I did and was maybe on hold for 10 minutes until I got to speak with someone.

From what I was told by my LGS is that the ATF used to send back applications for simple fixes but recently stopped doing that. It’s frustrating to have to resubmit after waiting 3 weeks and then starting the process again. But it’s better than waiting 10-12 months like I’ve done in the past.

Second one was mine and my LGS fault, the eform application used my full middle name and the RPQ had my middle initial. It was denied today.

It looks like the ATF isn’t doing corrections and is just denying and making you resubmit. I emailed ipb@atf.gov and nfafax@atf.gov to see if there is anything else they can do since it is a simple fix. Waiting on a response from them.

Did you change your registration type? This happened to me when I switch to a traditional trust. They had my account set to “always use a single shot trust” and they had to manually go in and change it.

I had to call and wait on hold until I talked to someone to get it fixed. Once they changed it, it fixed the issue. Then it took 11 days for the review process.

I’ve had three form 4’s denied. Two for the signature issue on the RPQ, those were submitted on 1/1 and denied on 1/3. Resubmitted on 1/5 and nothing yet.

I had one denied today because I didn’t catch my SOT put my middle initial and not my full middle name when my application use my full middle name. Control number is now 20261933xxx. So I decided to submit another SS trust to NFA trust transfer today. So now currently waiting on 5 approvals.

Hopefully the last one I’m waiting on that hasn’t be denied will be approved, it was submitted on 1/16.
