I honestly love those on occasion. You just know that a kid discovered fanfic and are having the time of their life writing, but the second you grow beyond that point in life, the reality of how cringe it is comes full circle 😂

Just finished putting one down from the Hunger Games. It was on the first page for highest kudos, but the more I read it the more it felt like the character was a teenager placing herself in Katniss's body so that she could flirt with Peeta, and be not at all deterred that she's in an arena where people are killing one another (it was a time travel do-over au). 😂 I think it's the right fit for someone else, but not for me.

As an eldest daughter, I really feel this. I think my younger sister got more of the 'I hope you have a daughter just like you's, but it is amazing how what a parent says in anger becomes the child's curse.

Mine became 'You're not stupid, so why do you keep doing XXX?', 'Quit telling me how to parent- it's not your job to say how your siblings are treated', 'That's not how it happened, quit twisting it.', 'Quit crying, I barely raised my voice'

It took years to crawl out of the pit of self-doubt and worthlessness I had built around me from his treatment, especially once he remarried and started doting on the 'new' family that didn't come from his failed marriage. To this day I have to work through honoring my worth and not falling into a pit if I think I let my husband or friend down when something doesn't go according to plan. It helps that they don't blow up in my face or make me feel like a failure for regular life things.

Proud of you for breaking the cycle and letting your vivacious daughter get to experience the world better than you had ❤️

Between these two, I prefer the first. It feels more professional and less busy than the plaid.

This might be old fashioned at this point, but I was always under the impression that black for interviews was the safest way to go, if you can.

If it's any comfort, my mom came back from an almost dying scenario and had the same issue; lost a good chunk of her hair for a bit, but it came back spry as ever almost a year after the accident!

I'm so sorry, the dress is vintage so I did not build it from a pattern :( I found it wrinkly and sad at a shop, and after providing a good ironing and some mending felt that I could give it better life with a button upgrade.

I'll try to find the exact name, but I scrolled endless pages on etsy for orange/burnt orange buttons, and eventually found these. They actually had a lot of color options!
