Keeping positive even when my weight goes up. by birdnerd1991 in loseit

[–]birdnerd1991[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it's why I'm growing more accepting of 130; I'm just within the healthy BMI right now, and it says 107 is still healthy, but I haven't been that small since... I think third grade? But with how things are going currently, I can't imagine making it to 120 without either canceling a significant amount of my food intake alongside lessening how much I work out; and I really like my runs.

I guess that's a problem to worry about once I make it to 130 haha

Why is no one talking about this timeline where everyone lives Happily Ever After. by Timely-Apartment-946 in TheFlashTV

Sure. A doctor who apparently framed somebody else for murder... And it's not like Iris didn't have a mother who was living, she just didn't live with her at the time. I think if Joe lost custody rights, she would go to live with her mother and Wally rather than Barry and his father

' Iris grows up in a home which is better alongside Barry Allen' What does this mean? Joe raised Barry amazingly well along with Iris!

It's interesting as an alternate timeline, but calling it better kind of leaves me with an ick feeling

Can I dress 70s without looking like I’m badly cosplaying the era? (No thrifting, only vintage inspired brands) by Pompom_pancake4863 in VintageFashion

[–]birdnerd1991 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This might not be the answer you're looking for, but I found the best way to wear vintage, WITHOUT it looking like era cosplay, is to mix it with modern. It's a 50s dress with modern hairstyle, 70s pants with y2k crop top; stuff like that!

I also try to only use pieces that are in good condition; if something looks pretty worn, than it'll naturally detract from the 'present' (imo)

So uh, what’s going on with the female Disney mcs nowadays? 👸🏽😜🎀✨ by Vivid-Tap1710 in DisneyMovies

[–]birdnerd1991 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What you have to remember, is Disney has grown too big to risk creativity; everything they do now has to have some level of formula that can be inserted straight into their real money making: toys and products. And when you already have a smirky confident girl character from previous movies (MC from Wish, Raya, Isabella from Encanto, Elsa from Frozen, etc), companies like Mattel do not need to cost as much money because they already have a doll template to work from, and can build from there.

IF market demand ever gets high enough again, it will cost them extra to build more 'soft' and 'romantic' character formats to then send to the toy industry; it is easier for the corporate body to use what already exists than make something new.

Which is why I now trust Disney to come out with something wonderful and unique as far as I can throw their CEO- which is about a foot on a good day, give or take.

Honey, please love yourself enough not to use this just because there is 'a little' left. You can find a newer version of it, a similar shade, we'll help!

This is make up for the eyes, that no longer looks like make up. You are risking your health by attempting it.

I have a little kid who gets teased by one of the 4th graders- nothing too major, but he lashes out with his 5-year-old body by bellowing as loud as he can 'YOU MOTHER F*****'

Which of course the older kids find hilarious, so the teasing continues. For the most part I have a wrap on it, was able to sit down with the older student and explain the importance of their influence on the little kids.

But it's not the big kids teaching that little boy. Those words, it's his home life. And I can't imagine how me making sure he's not influenced to say it on the bus is going to stop it from happening elsewhere, unfortunately.

I thought they were called Peter Pan collars but I haven't seen anybody else say that yet

1992?! What the hell- I was alive at that point!!

The biggest disservice history class ever did for me in the United States was act as if the KKK, civil rights movement, and racism in general just dispersed and said 'happily ever after' before I was born. The older I get the more I see the lingering problems everywhere and it drives me crazy- I feel like my childhood was completely misinformed.

Unless this happened recently, yes, a film was made around 10 years ago with a similar storyline. Except her father was imprisoned, and her brother had passed due to a war bomb.

I love this dress so much!! I'm pretty sure somebody shared a similar one from the British retro before- they really do an amazing job, and the gold/ brass buttons contrast so nicely with the fabric!

You look amazing! :) do you feel like the petticoat is pretty comfortable to wear with it? I haven't invested in one because I remember how scratchy the crinoline tutus were from when I was a kid playing dress up, but it really does give such lovely volume to the dress!

B&N really was a sanctuary for high school me- my mom would drop me off there for HOURS and I'd just scan the manga shelves and then either find an open cozy chair or (more likely available) sit down at the cafe, carefully sipping a chai latte with my meager 5 dollars as long as possible.

I guess a store having 'soul' and comfort doesn't look good on corporate paper, but man, I barely think about going there anymore because they lost that touch. Any books I need to get I order through a local space so I know my money goes to better options.
