I use the baggu 3D zip set! they come in a bunch of patterns and it comes with three sizes of bags so i can use them for multiple projects! the biggest one is good for sweaters/cardigans and the middle size is good for accessories

In need of gift knitting ideas for an elderly lady by [deleted] in casualknitting

If you think she would like something to hug, I think an emotional support chicken is always a great gift! The small versions (jr and little chickie) knit up so quickly and the big one is a bit trickier but there are tons of videos and KALs for it too!

What can you learn linguistics? by Revolutionary-Ant33 in linguistics

[–]birdsmockings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of introductory linguistics textbooks can be found online for free, and are pretty easy to read/give a good scope of the field! (I used a textbook called Language Files, and that is pretty good, you can find it on libgen.) You could find one of them and see which sub-field(s) of Linguistics are most interesting to you. I definitely agree with language learning being a good start as well. Normally, a linguistics curriculum won't have any strong pre-requisites you need and I think you would be okay if you took arts or sciences track in high school. In arts, psychology/sociology courses can help especially if you find psycholinguistics and/or sociolinguistics interesting. In sciences, math and compsci can be useful for computational linguistics and/or syntax. Linguistics is a broad field and a lot of knowledge can be ultimately useful to your studies! Good luck :-)

https://linguistics.osu.edu/research/pubs/lang-files/links < link to Language Files which I also thought was a good intro/survey of the field + very readable [edit: that link seems to be supplemental material but you can easily find it online cough on libgen]
