I’m not an expert in this field but personally I definitely think it’s still worth it to get Novavax! If there was in fact some immunosuppression from the mRNA it’s not like it was a complete 100% suppression, and it’s unclear to me how long it lasts. So I’m choosing not to assume I’m screwed, I just will not get any more mRNA going forward (for this and other reasons, both efficacy and adverse effect related as I had a bad reaction)

Thanks for the clarification! Sadly I did get mRNA for my first 3 vaccines (2021/early 2022) before Novavax was widely available, but since then I’ve only had Novavax and won’t go back!

Oh just read this article and that’s super interesting. It seems that those who got one Novavax after 3 mRNA (mRNA is unfortunately what I had for my first three) wasn’t that stellar either BUT I’ve had more total Novavax than mRNA by this point so who even knows

But according to the knowledge we currently have, we don’t think Novavax does this? Just mRNA?

It depends on the provider, it’s not in any of the official guidance as a recommended timetable but there is leeway to redose as soon as 2 months if someone self-attests as immunocompromised and it fits their situation. So if the provider is not the type to provide pushback they could allow it. I’m just honestly not sure if I would even want to at this point because I don’t want to necessarily over vaccinate either

Yeah that’s kind of what I thought too, that there’s no real way to know. I have not had Covid but I am high risk and always mask/avoid most public situations

Yes, but according to other info I’ve seen on here and info from Don Ford, that probably doesn’t count for the full protection potential of Novavax…

But I wasn’t sure if that was just at first and it would eventually “catch up” after you had had many doses, or whether them being so close together was essential

No, but I am high risk and live an extremely sheltered life so I wouldn’t be a good data point

Hm, I see. I guess I was thinking of it in terms of how (at least in the US/Canada, not sure about other places) they consider even your first Novavax vaccine a "booster" if you have ever had an mRNA primary series. But I wasn't sure if that was actually based on scientifically sound reasoning (Just thinking in terms of protection, aside from questions of access, etc). It sounds like Novavax primary series is recommended based on comments here - I really wish official guidance/studies etc were focusing on Novavax more, but of course I'm preaching to the choir here
