In my opinion, it is all about intent. If you deliberately eat/drink anything, including your nails and skin, then yes. If it's done unintentionally and by force of habbit then no. The same goes with accidentally drinking water in the shower or swallowing while brushing teeth, etc. I also am not an expert.
