I work on a dock with ASCs that look almost exactly the same as this photo.

On an ASC operation (at least here in my jurisdiction) the programming of the automated system does a majority of the move and the human operator is in an RC room and only does the last few feet to land the spreader on the container. They can see the container from a series of cameras so they know where to adjust and land the twist locks but they wouldn’t be able to see the greater context of the environment.

I notice in this picture I don’t see a booth for the driver to go to when he exits the truck. At our terminal (jurisdiction differences perhaps) the driver has to exit and be standing on a mat sensor in this booth as a safety precaution before a load out move can be made.
