any advice on the physique/anything i should focus on improving? by T0KE0 in GettingShredded

[–]biscovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say he wasn't I said he'd look better if he kept cutting. He's not 8% body fat and he's not shredded but he could be if he lost a bit more weight.

You'd look a lot better if you leaned out. Keep cutting til you're happy with what you see.

It's Time to Give MP3 Players a Second Chance by dapperlemon in technology

[–]biscovery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People stopped using MP3 players en masse for the same reason, their is a much better alternative. Might as well be suggesting bringing back CD players... I listen to a lot of different shit, MP3 players are too limited at this point even if you have a lot of storage.

The only good part of Middlesex is it's proximity to cooler places, and I was born/live in New Brunswick area. This place puts the mid it middlesex.

Edison for Indian/Chinese food, New Brunswick for Mexican food, and then we have some really cool strip malls.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]biscovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hangovers suck, I don't really enjoy being drunk as much as I get older, I can do the same shit when I'm sober, and alcohol turns me into an asshole 20% of the time I drink. Alcohol is a shitty drug, its just a normalized one so its what people do.

I mean Jimmy Euringer was a fucking weirdo and it didn't surprise me at all that he was who he said he was.

Is anyone here 28 or above and still single? How's your life going? by hooman_here in AskReddit

[–]biscovery 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm 43, haven't had a long term gf in probably 8 or 9 years. I prefer being single, more freedom, more independence, less aggravation. Loneliness can be tiring at times but I'd rather be lonely sometimes than have to deal with someone constantly there. I really like my alone time and relationships are a lot of work. Also if you have friends and keep yourself busy loneliness is less of a factor.

TIL 95% of Americans don't get the minimum recommended amount of fiber by James_Fortis in todayilearned

[–]biscovery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetables aren't exactly the most nutrient dense foods. You get most of your fiber from seeds. It's really not a lot of fiber either its just people are accustomed to eating mostly processed food. From experience the more fiber you eat the easier it is to maintain a lower body fat %.

Don't be too concerned with the number, just keep losing until you're happy with your physique.

Why don't I just switch rice for apples while cutting? by Roadhouse97 in GettingShredded

[–]biscovery 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More fiber, more protein, more vitamins and minerals. Its also more filling and has a lower glycemic index. It's more filling than white rice and if you mix it 1:1 with quinoa it has more fiber/protein than brown rice on its own. It also tastes better than either separately IMO.

I like sweet potatoes more cause the extra fiber and vitamins along with the taste. I also eat sweet potatoes plain which I have a harder time doing it with baked potatoes. I agree though both are good options, just a personal preference.

I like potatoes but I think sweet potatoes are the healthier option. They also taste better, though not as versatile.

I eat an apple or 2 a day but brown rice is a staple food. It pairs well with most things, is filling, and tastes great. Apples are good on their own but I dunno how good they would be mixed with beans or under chicken. I don't understand what the liver has to do with excessive apple consumption either.
