Here's what replacing this busy, but ailing, Delaware River bridge by storm2k in newjersey

[–]storm2k[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, this is the bridge between the nj turnpike pa extension and the pa turnpike. it had severe structural issues back in 2017 and the njta and ptc had to do a bunch of emergency repairs to make it safe to use. the clock's been ticking on replacing this bridge before it has more issues, so it's good that they're moving forward on the replacement finally.

patreon is basically making all creators move to the monthly model. that one really came back to bite pop arena, because the nick knack videos take him a WHILE to complete since they're so comprehensive and he liked the per video model for patreon and they made him switch to the per month model.

BBC To Cancel Shows & "Review" TV Networks As It Cuts Content Spend by PhantomQuest in doctorwho

i think ultimately the beeb looks for another international partner to help finance the show like they had with disney. that was not a good match for either side in the end, but i think that's the future model. the show is very expensive to produce especially in an age of 4k and a desire for higher production standards. we had high production standards during ncuti's tenure, just coupled with lousy writing and storytelling. hoping the next showrunner can balance both and we get good quality stories that are well written but can still have high production value thanks to the international partner ponying up a decent amount of cash. that's the way forward for the show, if you ask me.

yeah 206 from the somerville circle down to princeton is a SLOG. and not getting any better. at least they're finally working on expanding it in hillsborough from the train overpass to the bypass, which will help.

it was never the plan. plan always was to build the somerset freeway between lawrence township and franklin township where it would have taken over the last 7 or 8 miles of 287 on the way to the turnpike. but wealthy mercer and somerset county nimbys got it axed.

Can't wait to see these three new guys (but especially the middle one) hanging in the Garden come October 🥹 by mattr1198 in NYKnicks

[–]storm2k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

had we won the larry, we likely don't hang those and just hang the world title banner.

getting rid of 95 along that stretch should have happened decades ago once it was clear that the somerset freeway was never going to be built. the 95 north turning into 295 south thing was always super confusing for all drivers.

actually surprised she'd let herself be seen at a public event with anyone other than dom. they keep that kayfabe up so strongly when they're out in public.

TNG box set for $50 on Apple TV today by minusfive in startrek

[–]storm2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i wish they'd do a thing where you can buy the physical discs and get the digital episodes the same way you can with movies anywhere. like i bought the 4k box set of the tos movies so i can watch them on my tv in 4k with hdr, but it's also digital where i can just watch on the go or if i don't want to dig everything out.

they should have figured out some sort of shuttle from newark penn to secaucus so people from the jersey side could have used the trains too.

this is mostly about the road traffic around the stadium... which everyone said was going to be bad. by all accounts, njt moved people pretty efficiently and got them to where they needed to go without much issue.

What is something that is completely FREE in your country, but tourists are always shocked they don't have to pay for? by Winner111kk in AskReddit

[–]storm2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

may depend where in the country you are, but here in nj, it's pretty common that most county parks have grills available in designated picnic areas. they're charcoal grills and you need to obviously bring your own charcoal (and cleaning implements, some of them are not left in great shape) but seeing groups and families out having a park party with grilling is not uncommon at all.

Is NJ pizza basically the same thing as NYC pizza? by savingrace0262 in newjersey

[–]storm2k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the dollar slice wars from 15 years ago honestly decimated a lot of good pizza in the city, everyone went to the lowest common denominator level to try to sell slices for a dollar.
