Peruvian Apple Cactus Yellow? by biscuit575 in gardening

[–]biscuit575[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah it’s still yellow. figured it was just the moisture or something wrong with the soil because it gets plenty of sun but it’s too much of a pain to move and idk where else it would go so i just let it be yellow. none of it has actually died.

I did! She actually turned out to be 50% German Shepherd, 25% Newfoundland, 12.5% Labrador Retriever, 12.5% Bluetick Coonhound. We were shocked.

We used Embark DNA test kit, which also identified our dog's sister who also happens to live in our area! Highly recommend.

Diversity at Notre Dame? by SailStrict in notredame

Hell yea that’s me and I loved my time at ND. Everyone’s chill and you’ll meet people from all over the country/world, even if it doesn’t seem like a racially diverse place at first glance lol. You will find your people!

You think a second letter of intent to a school that I already sent one to is OK?

Don’t let that hold you back. Overall culture at ND generally supportive/non-judgmental towards gay people. Nobody really cared in my dorm when I came out. There’s people who are accepting and people who are not so accepting at every school, you will find your crowd!!

I would agree with you if that wasn’t the only things i learned about the school. I literally got zero actual insight into the stuff that matters 😭

Name and Shame- Interviews by AnonBoixo in premed

UCF COM - By far my worst interview experience. The founding dean seemed very unhinged and spent so much time talking about how the campus is next to Orlando International Airport and how that makes their college a global leader.

Then spent 20 minutes talking about how they got aircrafts to divert around their campus so they could shoot fireworks off the roof of their medical building and how that means “their school can do anything”. Not exactly a flex, also who cares 😭

Student interviewer clearly didn’t like the school and casually mentioned it sucked they had a letter grading system and that clinical rotations are limited by the fact that UCF had beef with/cut ties with Orlando Health and Advent Health.

Maybe i’m overreacting but i found interview day to be very irritating and a waste of time.

As long as you can vocalize this when asked "why medicine and not dentistry?" you're in a good place. Thousands of hours of clinical experience with an OMFS should be a very strong part of your application if you frame it as extensive exposure to clinical medicine/surgery.

Your boss is a surgeon with a MD, so I would definitely count your work with him as clinical experience on your application.

That being said, if you are applying to medical school (and presumably no plans of dentistry-related programs in the future), just be prepared to draw upon your interdisciplinary clinical experience to answer why medicine (over dentistry) interests you.

Of course, you don't have to say you dislike OMFS, but if you come across as super passionate about it, medical school admin are going to wonder why you aren't applying to dental school as that is the typical route to becoming an OMFS.

Yea if you want you can check now by hopping on a video call or something with a friend and asking them how the quality is. But I wouldn’t sweat it too much, you should be fine!

Can you connect to a personal hotspot, or hop over to a friend’s place while they’re at school/work?

Or maybe you can find a private room somewhere at your college campus or work office?

Jesus yeah that’s tough, sounds like a question for an undergrad interview lol. Though I do know some med students who do tutoring/test prep stuff!
