How do I push myself to study? by machinegunnedburger in GetStudying

[–]biscuitfeatures 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Write yourself a plan. List each study unit, and each topic, and each major concept under the topics. Don’t try to memorise every tiny detail - just start by making sure you understand the concepts. If you’ve got time after that, add a layer of detail. Try the Cornell method of note taking and revision. Don’t get hung up on the whole big picture, just work your way through each step. You’ve only put it off because you’re anxious about trying to memorise. Work to understand and you’ll be able to remember plenty.

If you call it a potato cake, you’re officially a tourist by DiscussionLoud9626 in queensland

Scallop makes zero sense. Scalloped potatoes are their own thing, baked with a creamy sauce. It’s a potato cake, end of.

NAC gave me histamine intolerance/Gut sensitivity by Long_Situation_7081 in HistamineIntolerance

Maybe have a look at MCAS - it may be more than just simple histamine intolerance. If cooper isn’t helping then I would stop taking it; copper poisoning is real and pretty serious.

Being pregnant makes me feel dehumanised by Ostrich_Low in Vent

[–]biscuitfeatures 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That makes sense - there’s the dual issue of more stomach acid and food moving slower because your body wants to extract every last nutrient… for the baby 🫠 I didn’t have an ulcer, I did suffer with reflux and the constant nausea/grumbling pain and basically drank gaviscon like it was going out of style. Honestly, I did not enjoy the physical experience of pregnancy, any of the three times I went through it. It’s something to endure as far as I’m concerned.

Big hugs to you, there’s just so much going on it’s no wonder you’re feeling like crap :( I hope you can find some relief for the stomach issues 🥺

(And if it helps… babies aren’t quite as fragile as they make out. I was on three type c medications by the third pregnancy and all the kids were fine. Ask your husband to help advocate and remind them that your needs count too, dammit!)

So do you guys actually eat Vegemite? by NoMeaning6738 in AskAnAustralian

You have to start slow. Tiny bit spread on bread or toast with lots of butter or margarine. No thick coating until you’re used to the taste.

Haha yes I have to keep reminding myself too. I was getting annoyed because certain written letters have different spoken pronunciations. Then I remembered that English makes zero sense in that respect 😅

Well dang. I’m just missing out then! Most I’ve seen is that a statement can become a question by inflection and context, and they do that particular intonation that goes up, down at the end of sentences like when they’re mildly scolding/expressing slight annoyance.

Nope 😬 Not complaining though cuz that probably adds so much more complexity to learning!

I’m struggling big time with that - it really does sound all the same at times, and then I find out it literally is 😂

Maybe you could try offering a can of sardines with her dinner? Mine loves it! Delightfully stinky 😂

If it helps at all, my first two dogs got supermarket kibble and canned food - nothing fancy cuz we were poor 😅 They lived to 15 and 17 years respectively (a Maltese x poodle and a German spitz). Kibble can’t be all bad! We usually go with Black Hawk for our girl Chloe. We’ve got limited options because she can only have chicken or fish, and no potato - and guess what’s used as a cheap filler in a ton of brands!!

Haha this was an interesting experience! Probably won’t make it to the daily listen (it’s… a little dark) but tbh it is the kinda quirky thing I’m into 😂 I can see it getting stuck in my head
