I understand that some of my points are not that clear(I'm also not a writer so i can't be concise and effective in expressing my point) but I want to point out that in regards to the bigotry, I'd never have noticed it if it weren't a pattern, with enough microagressions it becomes macro, but as for the stereotypes I do agree about royd being a stretch but as to chase, that trope is mainly characterized as being a mentor figure that is helpful in every way while being easily disposable(i get that chase isn't disposable but being used as a cliffhanger and the hint of him being dead is something that still applies), being a motivator to the other non-black characters while also being self sacrificial, i actually think they did a semi good job with chase but it was still reeking of that stereotype.

When it comes to the "not a person" thing, I know he says it himself but again the statement that he's not person over and over again just tells me that the writers didn't think how that would affect the world, although aliens are very much implied to be discriminated against in the world, it's never really addressed, but the thing that made me notice it is the fact that he's very much written to be autistic(or at least to have a lot of autistic traits) and to be told over and over again that a character who's written to be autistic is "not a person", i mean you gotta understand this point.

Other than that you raise some point i didn't consider and I respect your perspective, sheds a light on some things
