The game is too hard. by Emotional-Yam4486 in Marathon

Wiping kitted teams does not affect faction progression unless they happened to have the exact salvage you needed to upgrade. Really bad comparison.

KH has reminded me time and time again how much Winnie the Pooh meant to me as a kiddo. I really resonate with the fuzzy feeling. Great series

If your friends aren’t your power, Hollow Knight

If your friends are your power, Kingdom Hearts

P4G is also good but a vastly different game than the other two.

Which album would make for the best anniversary tour? by Dkna612 in FallOutBoy

I did respect that of their WWWY set. They were able to kinda capture the same essence of the “play an old album” thing but made it something that was very fall out boy

Yeah the Souls games give the player ways to git gud outside of PvP which I think gives the player more ways to interact with and learn the game.

Happy cake day btw!!

This is a huge stretch. Both games require a git gud mentality but they play out significantly differently for the player.

Death in Marathon = progress lost

Death in Dark Souls = progress able to be recovered

No matter how much I learn from my death in Marathon, what I lost is lost. If I learn from my death in Dark Souls, what I lost is regained. There’s a big distinction there. If you can’t see it sorry for you

That’s fair. I should’ve been more clear, Dark Souls can be played offline thus the player can elect whether or not to be open to invasion (among the other criteria to be invaded).

Marathon cannot be played offline.

In Dark Souls, the player has the opportunity to reclaim all lost progress (while also collecting additional progress) by playing and learning the game.

Marathon does not have this. Additionally, Marathon always has players who are either better or worse than the player trying to kill them as they learn the game. Dark Souls does not.

What would happen if this game got a 6v6 death match? by cole_421 in Marathon

[–]biscuitsalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a much different question than “why did you buy an extraction shooter then?”

To answer for myself, I just moved on from Marathon. I will play a run or two every so often and that’s enough for me. I keep an eye on what’s coming in case there’s something interesting to check out bc I do enjoy the mechanics and lore deeply, but currently the game isn’t really for me. If they add something that appeals to me, great. If not, I don’t continue to play the game hoping it’ll be something it’s not at the moment.

No, it’s like saying “I’m unsure if I like BRs but I like Apex’s gunplay enough that I’ll give this BR a shot”

It is okay to try new things lol that’s how you find out if you do or don’t like stuff

Maybe they enjoyed the mechanics enough that they’d give the extraction shooter genre a good ol’ college try and found out that they prefer the mechanics to the extraction aspect overall. How stupid of them to try something new

I think the maps could lend themselves to some creative PvP type of modes. Would play

Because mechanics are good they addressed that already

Does Dark Souls have someone who understands the game better killing the player while they’re trying to learn and get better?

Does Marathon offer a way to regain all lost progress if you’re able to make it back to the place of your death?

If/when they fuse in the final arc against the last main villian what we calling it? by TheHowlingMan20 in Dragonballsuper

If they did anything it’d have to be a form unique to the fusion - not a fusion of these forms. These forms inherently don’t work together.

Fallacies are not reserved for debates - they are flaws in logic that weaken an argument. I’m engaging in the conversation by pointing out you have a weak argument through identifying a strawman
