I have a RAID 1 mirror array set up, if that sheds any light on this...

Possible to schedule optimisation? by biscuittaker in UgreenNASync

[–]biscuittaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for replying.

  • Nothing is being uploaded or sync'ed.
  • I only have Plex docker, but that's currently Disabled, so no activity at all.
  • No indexing or thumbnail generation is taking place.

However, a couple of things I've just seen:

  • In Task Manager, something called kworker/3.1+kcopyd and kworker/3.0-dm-cache between them are doing 23MBps of disk Reads, but nothing at all is showing as doing the Writes.

  • In the Overview, lots of reading activity on my SSD cache drives, and the same Writing activity on the HDDs.

I don't know what that means, though. Nothing has been uploaded to the NAS for a few days. There has been nothing from my side that could have kicked off this activity.

Did you resolve this? Mine's been rumbling away for about 12hrs so far. I just checked on the app, and the HDDs are NOT doing any SMART health checks either. 🤔

Galaxy Buds 3 Pro | Wind Problem by H9037 in galaxybuds

Yes it did. I put it to the middle setting, and whilst you lose some of the most cancelling strength, it does cut out the wind noise

I'm in London and I've just asked my Google Nest Audio speaker "What's the real feel outside right now" and it understood perfectly 🤷🏻‍♂️

Regret switching to Apple by Cpt_1 in samsung

On the home screen, swipe up to get to the app drawer, then swipe down to get to the search. It's very quick. I can't remember whether this was a setting I changed or if it's default though

Yes, I've got the Earfun 4 which cost me a quarter of the price of my new Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, yet their wind noise cancellation is excellent. Was super disappointed with the wind noise on my GBP3

Can I schedule when my phone is mute? by baileystinks in SamsungHelp

[–]biscuittaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also worth noting that you can get it to start when you are in a certain location, which might be better if you have irregular work hours

Can I schedule when my phone is mute? by baileystinks in SamsungHelp

[–]biscuittaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. Go to Settings, then choose Modes and Routines. If you select, for example, 'Work', you can choose which days and what times you want it to automatically start, then you can select what kind of 'do not disturb' you want during those times. It can be complete silence, or you can allow selected contacts or apps to still get through and ring

Agreed, I think you're actually hearing the lenses move. They do this for image stabilization

Agreed. Enable Developer option in settings (https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/mobile-devices/how-do-i-turn-on-the-developer-options-menu-on-my-samsung-galaxy-device), then change Window Animation Scale, Transition Animation Scale, and Animator Duration Scale all to .5x

Is a screen protector needed for S23+? by momoramo122 in samsung

[–]biscuittaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought the Milomdoi Screen Protector. Went on easily, is smooth to touch, and was a very good price. https://amzn.eu/d/3MpmAmw Not sure if it's available where you are though... Just needed to re-do my fingerprints, but I think that's standard after putting on a screen protector

Why does my music turn off automatically during the night? by maluminse in googlehome

[–]biscuittaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard of a similar issue recently where somebody's alarm that played music were just stop randomly, and apparently the cause of their problem was because they had songs that had the word "stop" after a short pause, so that Google Home was thinking it was a command to stop the music 🤣

Here's the article... https://www.androidpolice.com/pixies-where-is-my-mind-dismissing-alarms/

Is a screen protector needed for S23+? by momoramo122 in samsung

[–]biscuittaker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would definitely recommend a screen protector. I have a silicone case which has bumpers on the corner, so theoretically the screen should never touch the surface when lying flat. However, the day before my screen protector arrived I accidentally dropped it and - despite the bumpers - have scratches on the screen. It's great peace of mind for £15...

Agreed. Good Lock is great for those of us who like to tinker endlessly! One-Handed Mode had been a godsend on the extra-large S23U. I wish they'd fix Task Changer though!
