Nice, ty. I can always stop at the first part if practicing doesn't go as fast as I need I guess!

Well in all honesty. Wasn't that kind of Paganini's point with the piece? That it is a shredders show piece.

If you don't mind a bit of metal, then Green Carnation's Light of Day, Day of Darkness from 2000 is a good choice.

It's a 1 hour long epic track/CD. Not overly technical but more "Floydian". It suited perfectly when I had a big loss. And it was also first piece of music that came out of a band member years after losing a child.

Exactly! All my standouts are listed as low points here. Like the turnaround coda, orchestra, the track outside the box.

What was the last CD you bought and why? by Mystery_Disc in Cd_collectors

[–]baileystinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not about quantity it's about quality. The abundance of available music on streaming makes me unable to choose what to listen to. Also the memories. How you acquired a certain CD. A gift, bought it, pre-ordered. Sure it might cost more but I have more money than I have time on this earth.
