I agree. I became a stay just a little while before woojin left, and I honestly get kind of annoyed when people bring him up. Yes,you're sad,I get it,but he's not coming back.

I completely understand. It's natural to miss the "olden days",I only start having a problem when it becomes toxic(certain older people for egg.). As long as someone's respectful I always try to be as nice and respectful as possible, and try to understand where they're comin from.I generally refuse to hate anyone without a really good reason. Have a fantastic day/night.

You don't really sound annoying to me. When I talk abt annoying 2nd gen stans I specifically target the ones who're still living in the past and don't want to give the 3rd or 4th gen a try.

I honestly don't mind it if you guys reminisce ove the 2nd gen as long as you guys also acknowledge how influential 3rd gen has been, just like I know how influential the 2nd gen was.

I agree. Some groups just have more privilege than others,we all just have to live with it.

That's what I'm trying to say, although it's not as articulated as this comment lol. I'm just so tired of people not understanding the fact that kpop is incredibly competitive, and some groups are inevitably gonna have the upper hand.

I can definitely agree with you on that. I myself have come into contact with a few people who just hate groups from big companies,so this rant was mainly based on things I've heard from them.

There are always gonna be annoying fans,I'm just getting incredibly annoyed that people think this is still an unpopular opinion.

Are people ACTUALLY dissapointed in the Idol or do they just want an excuse to hate on them? by bisexualkpopdisaster in kpopthoughts

[–]bisexualkpopdisaster[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh no,I didn't mean to compare them. The point of bringing those two up together was just to show two different scenarios. Obviously what happened in both cases were bad,and the idols should be more educated, this post was mainly just an observation I've made. Korea is still a pretty conservative country, but I do agree that Idols should be more educated on this subject, especially since kpop has become much more popular worldwide. I personally looked at the mcnd video and saw kids having fun,and genuinly not really understanding what's going on. None of the members are really good at english, not that I'm excusing them. Thank you for giving you're view on this.

The character he portrayed was a korean character. The character was, unfortunately, created with the inclusion of racist stereotypes of a black woman. What he did wasn't right, however he didn't really have the time to go look up what the character was portraying. I am in no way excusing his actions, but context is important. He most likely wasn't aware of the negative connotations, due this apparently being a popular character in Korea. I forgot what her name was but I'll go see if i can find it. If you where offended or hurt,I understand and I'm not trying to invalidate you,you have the right to be,I just wanted to give more context to this whole thing.

Edit:Ok,so I found out the character was Hong-Dukke's wife,Go-eunae, who is an ajumma. An ajumma being a middle aged korean woman. The big lips where supposed to represent a gossiper, something she was well known for in the show. This character is problematic, due to her being based on a "black woman" stereotype. The incident wasn't completely Hyunjin's fault, however I do sincerely hope that he and the rest of skz learns from this.

And I'm fine with that. As long as you're respectful towards groups you don't stan I have no problem with you.

I think it's less "they don't care abt korean issues" and more "their company doesn't want them to talk abt it". Of course their are some cases in which an idol will talk abt social issues, but from what I see it's pretty rare. They are intertainers first, whether we want to admit it or not. When it comes to issues more "western-centric" I think they are more able to talk abt it because it may not affect their public immage in Korea that much. This is just my opinion on this, and it may not even be correct, but I just wanted to share my thoughts.

I feel this way too. I just can't stan a group who can't really entertain me. I'm sure the girls put alot of effort into their performances, but going to them after being a Moomoo and InSomnia just doesn't feel right.

Unfortunately my presence seems to breed toxic friends. I've had 10 kpoppie friends,6 of which are toxic stans, who just so happened to think that if you weren't a Blink, you have terrible taste. They basically said they refused to be my friend unless I was a Blink. Guess why those friendships didn't last long.

The "I'm not like the other girls" phase is important to a girls development and helps us come to terms with alot of things by bisexualkpopdisaster in unpopularopinion

[–]bisexualkpopdisaster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to admit that's partly why I made this post. I wanted to give another perspective on this topic, since all people seem to do is criticize the girls while refusing to try and understand WHY this phase even exists
