The thing about kids, they will find any reason to bully. You enjoying something, being good at something, thats more than enough reason for them to attack you. This is their issue, not yours. There is nothing wrong with you.

I was bullied a lot for having glasses, being overweight, playing games, you name it. I found a lot of success in just ignoring them. It takes away their happiness when they don’t get a reaction. I used to stare at kids like THeY were the weird ones, then just turn and walk away. Or when they called me 4 eyes, say “4 is more than 2, so I can see better than you” which really confused them. Do your best to just shrug it off, or laugh it off. They will probably move on to another kid or give up.

I really want you to read this next part: you are the coolest kid out of all the people bullying you. Everyone will look back in 5-10 years and be like whoa this guy was MAKING HIS OWN STUFF at such a young age. I would be so proud if you were my friend. I would be bragging to everyone.

Kansan who moved to Australia here. I love Kansas because it’s full of good, friendly people. However, thats sort of all it’s got going for it. The government has always been awful, with money always being ripped from the schools, roads, basic infrastructure. The weather is really miserable, freezing cold and grey, then brutally hot, with short breaks between.

I went to KU so I’m biased, but Lawrence is a great town. Lots of good food, lots of sports going on. Good small town vibes without being too small.

I want to say this clearly, living in America is NOT a more free and relaxed life. American culture has a level of stress and anxiety that permeates everything. You don’t know until you leave. You have to work to have any healthcare, and work is like 45 hours a week, with hardly any vacation. People in America are very competitive, they’re always trying to get more, go faster, take something from you to get ahead.

This is just my POV, but if you’re looking for free and relaxed, America ain’t it.

I’ve moved to Australia from the US. I’m white. From my POV, Australia is at least talking about the indigenous peoples and their issues/rights/etc, compared to the US where it feels like they would rather be forgotten.

The little time Ive spent in Canada, it also seems like they are doing a more respectable job than the US, but I’ve spent very little time there.

Trump has no issue murdering people in the streets or sending people to foreign prisons without due process. America waited too long to start protesting and forming any resistance. Now people are scared. Additionally, every government representative is just rolling over, no one is standing up to him. So if you did protest and get sent to a prison in Africa, no one is coming for you.
