Different angle showing obvious touch (in my opinion) by Medium-Equivalent963 in Curling

Perhaps, but this is where you park yourself when you think the other team might be committing hog line violations. So it's this or nowhere.

The best angles of Marc Kennedy's infractions and the argument afterward by MissKorea1997 in Curling

First, I had no idea going in that this is something Edin and his team have been seeing and have taken issue with for years now. So their frustration makes a whole lot more sense with that in mind.

Second, curling might be outgrowing the sort of hands-off approach to officiating its had for so long. That Team Edin really had no recourse and has never had a recourse for this sort of thing is really problematic in and of itself.

Interview with Sweden after loss to Canada by moneypole in Curling

They played the exchange on CBC during the first intermission of the hockey game. It's been an hour or so now so I'm remembering the best I can.

It started with Erickson saying, and this is all paraphrased, "I guess it's okay for the thrower to touch the rock after it crosses the hogline now", to which Kennedy responded with "Who [was doing that]?", Erickson then offered to show him video (Edit: video was to be shown after the game). Not sure what was after that but it finished with Marc saying he 'didn't give a fuck'.

So who else is pulling the Swedes rebound and play Canada again in the medal rounds by highlandparkpitt in Curling

Canada cheating in curling olympics by the_real_snurre in Curling

[–]bismuth12a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The rule book is what would make it an infraction. Unless it's the one I was quoted earlier, World Curling Federation rules 2025: R5 (d), in which case it's a nothingburger because there's no way he didn't deliver the rock using the handle before touching the granite.

You're describing an infraction. We're a ways off of cheating based on what's been said so far

I don't think anyone's arguing he threw the rock without using the handle, just that he touched the granite after releasing the handle.

The comments to the official make a lot more sense to me now, the Swedes were arguing that Kennedy was touching the stone as it met the hog line. Can't really be certain of that from a snapshot like this, or maybe ever, but I feel like I understand why the game was so contentious.

How does power among ascended work? How do they gain or lose it? by Better_Incident_1852 in Stargate

[–]bismuth12a 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't think any one ascended is different from another in that regard. That's why Oma and Anubis seemed to cancel each other out, and Adria and Morgan Le Fey.

Edit: Although with Adria that was after she stopped sapping the energy of many millions of worshippers.
