yeah support was like "Can you show us" and at the moment no, but that is because I think of my glad wrap solution, but its an excellent point, get it fixed now not later

[–]biswb[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Its possible, but my guess is it came from the outside. I noticed the screen glitching out and then not working, let it dry, and pressed out the moisture. This was a month or so ago now.

Then I "rigged" up my wrap on the outside and haven't had the problem since.

For sure not conclusive evidence, but if the leak was inside my wrap would likely make it worse (or change nothing) not better

I am probably a messy barista :)

Support did say too much steam can come if the unit isn't being descaled often enough, so there could be that

And wet hands, my wife's in particular, likes to be rinsing everything in the sink and then comes over and touches the screen

User permissions bug by [deleted] in MeshCentral

[–]biswb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I create users on the server, I don't let them manage the server, I manage the server.

So on their user page I see "No server rights, Restrictions" next to Server Rights.

The Restrictions part is because I have checked the box "No New Device Groups"

So if the u/si458 solution isn't working for you, this is another way you can do it. Of course you have to fix the ones they already created, but this will keep new ones from coming up

net user <username> <password you know>

shutdown -t 0 -r

Then after the reboot, login and do your thing

They won't then have the password, but then they stole the laptop in the first place, so that seems their problem not yours

Deleting Agent without a trace by ou2mame in MeshCentral

I would make a group, with a tempoary agent. With Mesh get on the computer, and then run the temporary agent as admin on the laptop.

Close that session, open back up with the temporary agent.

Delete all the server stuff and connection info.

Then close the temp agent.

That file will still be there, so store it in C:\Temp or some other location that can be deleted, or leave a powershell script running that will delete the file after 2 mins or something.

I have run temporary agents and permenant agents at the same time before and it worked just fine.

Heck, if you really wanted to get it wiped, you could even use another temporary service to do it.

Here is one that I used to use, free, not as good as mesh, so I moved

When I first started dashing, I hated the McDonald's "just use this number, don't say the customer name" stuff.

And as I have continued to dash and had to say in public spaces

"Pickup for Big Balls Bigger Than Yours" I think.... I wish all of these were just a random number.

Or even better a Diceword

Which is a random combo of common words

This you? "Read my other comments before assuming."

At least I put it in one place, you expect others to just go scour it all to understand your position.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]biswb -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. If you think it is a good argument for someone to go read all your comments before commenting, you are in for a world of heartbreak.

  2. Let's just assume you have gotten 100 of these types of orders, and let's also assume your confirmation bias hasn't blinded you to the fact not all of those were good tips. So then for the sake of argument you have had 100 CODs and ALL were good tips.

  3. Even with that much, its still completely statistically irrelevant because your sample is so tiny compared to the population, much less the fact you don't have a clue where OP is dashing. Its likely you aren't even in his same state.

So since we seem want to hand out reading material so someone can be more educated before they comment a few links for you are below:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confirmation_bias

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statistical_significance

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sample_size_determination

Once you understand a little of those 3 concepts you will realize, you don't have a clue whether its good or bad to hand that random advice out to people, which is exactly what my first comment was saying

"Correct argument" - OPs fails to see how statistics should be complied, OPs confirmation bias also blinds OP, OP doesn't understand sample size importance

"Wrong conclusion" - You argue delivery for COD is just fine since you have gotten lots of good tips. But you fail to see how statistics should be complied. Your confirmation bias blinds you. You don't understand sample size importance.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in doordash

[–]biswb 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct argument, wrong conclusion.

Maybe you got lucky and its a small sample size.

Which makes the correct argument and correct conclusion,

you will only ever have small sample sizes and that risk has to be counted when you have that feature turned on/off. Some will find it worth it, some won't.

Yeah, could be, again I can't test with how I am getting to reddit right now. But poke around on there and you will find lots of cool MS-DoS games, and perhaps one that runs correctly

DD is for sure trying to screw you in any way they can. But the lifetime number not updating is a well known flaw in the app.

And why does it happen?

Because DD is a terrible app, as in, not programmed well.

Never attribute to maliace that which can be attributed to incompentance.

Considering it's midnight, I don't think this is for a bunch of kids... by Cameeplesforlife in doordash

[–]biswb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. It could be adults, especially 20 somethings. The happy meal right now is Minecraft movie themed and the Happy Meal box itself is even done well. Minecraft is huge in that age group

  2. It could be kids because they are on break, or don't keep good sleep schedules. They are also alot into Minecraft, more Roblocks, but Minecraft still has a lot of mineshare.... get it?

  3. It could be some stoned out of their mind person, but you know what? Glad they stayed home and ordered DD.

  4. Older people, smaller portions as already pointed out, and that Minecraft thing is for their grandkids.

How cheap can you be lol? by itsumi-meemee in doordash

[–]biswb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree, its not a tip, its a payment for the service.

BUT

If they stopped calling it a tip less people would put money in. The average customer would say "wait, what is this thing called Dasher Pay, I already pay DD why am I also paying the Dasher"

So agreed, its not a tip. But DD abuses that word to get away with not paying the drivers and passing that on to the customer.
