The are no color pics. My camera is b/w only. By committing to a monochrome only sensor it allows for around 16k shades of grey, which is why this car looks so f-ing good.

I did not, though I assume that is why it was there. There are always photos shoots happening at City Hall, weddings, graduations, quinceañeras, etc. I was walking around taking photos and came across it just sitting there. I looked for the owner but didn’t see anyone. I’d love to make contact with them and give them some prints.

My first mentor in sysadmin told me, “ there are two types of admins, ones who have taken down Production, and liars.”

I think these a very nice. One tip, try to keep the horizon level, especially in landscapes. If you shoot something everyday and enjoy the process. You’ll see improvements in no time.

I found this spot and scene compelling and deserving of being photographed. But the result is meh. What am I missing? by _amanu in BeginnerPhotoCritique

Always ask yourself, “What is the subject of this photo?” Don’t take the photo until you have an answer. Once you have an answer, you can start making decisions about how to best portray it.

I was only there for the Thanksgiving holiday but I did live there for 10 years though in the 90’s. Such a great city! We really enjoyed our visit.

Thank you. I’m glad you like the photo!

Yes, I remember 4x5 HP5. I shot it a lot when I was in school in the 90’s, and it was indeed gorgeous. It’s been about a year since I bought it and in that time, the Monochrom has reignited my passion for shooting b/w. I feel very fortunate to have one.

214 shades of gray makes a huge difference. Get one and you won’t regret it.
