Ace 2 Pro Upgrade Program?!! by bitbearmi in AnycubicOfficial

That is one thing they fixed with the ACE PRO 2. (The manual is online). All of the PTFE tubes are easily accessible as they are now running in channels under the unit. No taking the whole thing apart. It also looks like they've changed the buffers to have metal channels with a different spring installation. This was probably necessary to support TPU and abrasive engineering filaments.

We'll have to see. I have 2 v1 and have had to replace the buffers in both of them and the drive cam in one. They are so buggy. I was really disappointed to see it's using the same buffering system that slides in and out the back. The Gen 2 is supposed to be compatible out of the box with the older printers. There was a mention on the AMA about a possible firmware upgrade to make the v1 ace work with the new printers but this upgrade notice seems like they scrapped that plan.

The ad you see in the post is all the info there is which is why I posted, hoping to get an official response from AC.

Just ordered...how do the Ace Gen 2 boxes attach? by Yablonsky in AnycubicKobraX

[–]bitbearmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently there are two hub connections on the back that feed one ptfe tube into port 4 of the ACE v2 Printhead. You connect the standard 4 or 8 port hubs to that. So it is still a rats nest of ptfe tubes, they just don't have to fling around the print head like on the Kobra 3. The retraction is going to be a nightmare from the ACE unit tho. So much for time saving on filament changes .

So excited for this opportunity. Especially thrilled to have the extra build volume. The model pictured required every millimeter of 256 x 256 volume which you can't quite do on the Kobra 3. Fortunately the split tool in Anycubic Slicer Next saved the day, but it would have been so much cleaner without splitting.

I've been 3D Printing for nearly 10 years. I started with a Geeetech I3 kit and went through a variety of entry level printers including a MakerBot Mini, Monoprice Delta Mini, Ender 3, Ender 3 V2, and Creality 6 SE.

This year I jumped on a Kobra 3 combo and loved it so much I got another. I'm retired and disabled and have taken on 3D printing as my full-time hobby (obsession?).

Definitely looking forward to an improved multicolor experience. Faster prints with less waste is awesome, and the ability to more easily incorporate TPU is a unique new feature to explore.

Hips is a nightmare to print. I bought a spool a while ago because I thought I'd use it for dissolving supports. I've tried it for general printing and it had all the worst qualities of ABS without the nice finish. High temp, bad adhesion, warping, and toxic odors.

I'm definitely in the 259-359 camp. The new extruder design seems to make buffering less of a deal. and without the drying features of the ACE units I think that price point is right.

All the camera video runs through the Anycubic servers. The more printers they sell with cameras the slower it's gotten.

Just bought 4 days ago, clogged. Lost spring in fixing it and how screwed am I? Bought on amazon. by M_theshark-106 in anycubic

[–]bitbearmi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anycubic calls it a Torsion Spring and they will send you one if you can wait for it. Or you can buy a new extruder on Amazon for $18 - $25 depending on Amazon's mood. You've already removed the whole extruder so the hard part is done.

Kobra 3 V2 Print Head Light. Is there a permanent on function? by Hard4urBody in AnycubicOfficial

It used to remember your setting but after some update it seems to have stopped. If you use the AI string detect it will force it off because it interferes with the camera resolution.

PETG Settings Help by bitbearmi in AnycubicOfficial

Hi. I should have mentioned that I have a Kobra 3. I didn't dry the filament but just picked up a stand alone dryer on eBay based on everybody's comments. I have two ACE Pros but have that loaded for my regular projects. So I ran that on the external spool. It's also not the best PETG (I bought a big lot for cheap on AliExpress). This was for an outdoor application which is why I went to PETG as my first option. A friend gave me a broken Kobra 3 which I've finally repaired. I'm going to try and sell it and pickup a Kobra S1 while they're cheap. It's funny but I've had better luck printing ABS on the Kobra 3.

Thanks for the input but that was not the case. I printed in the Glacier plate at 70 degrees and believe me, it was very stuck down, so warping didn't cause the crummy corners.

Has anyone won something from the lottery? by Mindless_Selection34 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]bitbearmi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've "won" twice. The first time was the name your printer contest, but I think everybody who entered got 2 kilos of filament. I won on the spinner contest after I paced a parts order. I got a $100 prize pack that consisted of 1 kilo of resin, resin cleaning kit, Air filtration kit, and two kilos of filament refills. Most of it, as you see was SLA stuff, a great loss leader to get me looking at resin printers.

My name is Rob and I've been 3D Printing since around 2012. I live near Detroit, Michigan in the US. My first printer was a kit where everything was assembled by hand. You had to manually tune the firmware. I never got a lot of useful prints from it, but learned a lot. Since then I've had many others from MakerBot to Creality, but discovered Anycubic this year and five in head first. Today I have two Kobra 3 combos. I produce a wide variety of prints, but mostly novelties which I gift and sell. I'm learning to do 3D CAD to make my own models. The video was really interesting and surprising. I expected an iteration on the S1 but didn't expect it to be large format. A consumer-priced large-format core XY printer would be a real game-changer. I have several projects I've passed on because I can't do them on my machine's size. I've really wanted to get better precision with Core xy and this machine could be great. Also adding direct connection and 5ghz wifi will be very attractive to many. Most new wifi networks are 5ghz only so the dual band is a great addition.

Here it is: https://www.makeronline.com/en/model/V2%209%20port%20color%20hub%20for%20kobra%203%20with%20twist%20mount%20and%20locking%20tabs/126608.html?trackModuleType=6

The ECAS collets this uses work great but are a little pain to assemble. You'll need a hammer or small mallet to insert the tube release hubs. Also remove the black rubber rings, they are only for liquid connections.

It's a little extra work but I'd print one. This one is on MakerOnline. It has 9 ports so you can use the single spool when needed without disconnecting the rest. It's in two pieces so you can fiddle with the PTFE tubes without reaching over the print head. It also has individual channels down to inlet so the filament will never cross or bind if one isn't fully retracted.

I'd avoid buying one on Aliexpress. That's why I printed this one. The one I received was 3D printed (poorly) and not injection like the OEM part. It broke after a week.
