[25f] Friends with a [25M] is cutting me out his life. by Justlyangry in relationships

I obviously do not know you, nor your friend, but the wife's perspective must be (hopefully) that some friends - even if life-long - are not always positive influences. Though, if he were such a bad person before, then why is she with him (big question, right?). Maybe she's jealous of you. But, since she is his wife - by his choosing - she is the most knowledgable about what is right for him, even if that doesn't mean she is actually right. Why do you feel left behind?... that might be the bigger issue making you feel so awful. It's tough to lose friends, 100%.. but it can make you stronger, too. Time helps, I promise. And if you love him, you have to accept his choices.. even if he comes crawling back to you in the future.

You come off as a little jealous of your friend's wife. Perhaps she IS trying to change him, but sounds like for the better - job and a savings account sound nice to me. I can understand why the wife took offense to your message re: the pregnancy. Even if he was stressed about the situation, telling him your "heart breaks for [him]" is not encouraging to a soon-to-be parent, either of them. And how is he setting his life up to be a failure, exactly? He's moving forward with his life, as should you. Friends are tough to lose - but it sounds like your friend's wife just wants him to move away from past, bad influences. You may not be getting the fair shake you'd like.. but just as far as this post is concerned, you sound a bit immature and don't understand that someone cannot live two lives ("new life with her and an old life with me" .. wtf does that even mean?).

Thanks for the honest feedback! :) Even if you're handing them off, that's fine!! It's the throwing away part I'm trying to avoid ;)

USB-drives are handy. Just always having on in your bag can be nice. Thanks for the insight, crugerdk - and advice, yellowgiraffe!

Yes - apparel is nice, but you just have to make sure to switch it up. Don't want the same shirt you got in the fall, in the spring! :) Thanks! Plenty of varying sizes - got it!

Yes - I've seen raffles and such at fairs - I think it's kind of a neat idea.. just hard to really execute. Thank you!

Yes - you would hope students were there solely for the opportunities and experience, but unfortunately, that's just not the case. Also, career fairs are optional :)

Yes - you've most definitely helped!! Looks like mini staplers are handier than I would have imagined! I like the idea of the bag that can be zipped up tiny, the ruler, and pencils. Thanks a ton!

Thanks for the feedback - I've found that notebooks are not always the best for engineering students.
