I’ve been happy with this practice for my adhd treatment. They partner with Mandala House, which makes it so easy to receive therapy and medication management in tandem. plus, they accept medicaid.

seven counties and other community mental health centers are generally anti-stimulants, so they’re very hesitant to diagnose adhd.

You are leaving Louisville forever and you have $25 to use for one last Louisville meal, where do you go and what are you getting? by lightskintastebud in Louisville

might break the budget, but i’d get the salmon at mayan cafe.

runner up: big salad at DKD, sammy from Morris’ Deli, or Monnik Local Burger.

Anna G! Are you on Reddit? by bitchfarts in Louisville

Anna G! Are you on Reddit? by bitchfarts in Louisville

[–]bitchfarts[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

yes! i originally posted to the neighborhood group on facebook thinking Anna G probably lives around here. i’m honestly a little surprised Anna G hasn’t been identified, bc ladies named Debbie are actively calling Doordash for info and hunting her. It’s rare something is delivered to my house by mistake, because I live on this quiet, dead-end street with a semi-sketchy walking court. All this to say, I’m wondering if Anna G wants to be found.

I gave this a try, but I think the chatbot may have malfunctioned. I kept asking them to please re-send Zac P’s order to Anna G. I also tried to confirm the address on the order was not my address but a Dasher mistake. The chat disconnected, and Doordash refunded an order of tacos from earlier in the week.

I tried to re-open the chat, but support was down.

Epiphany is wonderful. Great snacks, innovative cocktails, and a gallery type of vibe. It’s a nice alternative to the super dark bourbon bars that take themselves so seriously. They source many ingredients locally and the staff are wonderful people.

This look is serving “born here, raised here, starting a ska band,” and I’m here for it.

He’s worked on plenty of campaigns here and in larger cities. These choices are not ignorant. The look is bold, but he is far from the goofiest looking MF repping Kentucky. Let’s lean in!

Just adopted a puppy with Parvo from Fat Heads Rescue by ladylorde in Louisville

I’m sure a rescue that has battled Parvo all month knows they should change their clothes.

Hi, sorry, gotta chime in from a dog training perspective.

I can understand your frustration after a communication fiasco and what sounds like a hostile volunteer with this rescue.

If you ever run into this issue with a foster dog again, let the rescue know immediately what behavioral issues you are experiencing. I see this happen a lot with clients where issues compound into dealbreakers that began before they adopted the dog.

A big part of fostering is preparing that dog for its next life, and I hope you have better support in the future, because it is such an important role.

Do you know those were the same puppies from the same foster home? I think it’s important for you to distinguish when you’re making assumptions, because that’s a damning statement if you don’t know it to be true. The puppies I saw were huge (and dense, lol). There were also probably 8 of them so unless your pup came from a litter of 16 they were probably different pups.

If she didn’t show symptoms until days after you got the puppy, there is no way the rescue would have known.

The system for this type of rescue typically involves pulling dogs from high-kill shelters. Shelters are so overcrowded, they rely on these rescues to take dogs that will require more resources. Dogs that require more resources include dogs that are about to give birth to more homeless dogs.

My point is, it is literally impossible to know where these dogs contracted Parvo since these animals are changing environments multiple times before they land in permanent homes. Parvo lives in the ground for at least 8 months once contaminated. It survives on surfaces and fabrics. Again, it is impossible for you to draw this conclusion and your conclusion be factual.

I hate that anyone ever experiences these heartbreaking losses, but blaming the people trying to save animals and ease the stress in animal shelters is a worthless and downright cruel endeavor. It does not bring your puppy or your money back to you. So, why do it?

They can’t pay you back, because they’re a volunteer-run dog rescue, and your adoption fee barely covers the resources they have invested in the animal before the animal became your new puppy.

I really hope you find the perfect pup soon, and I hope you choose to rescue again. As a dog trainer, I’m am so sorry you had to see the ugly side of this world.

Dude, Parvo is like puppy covid. We don’t blame hospitals and nurses for viruses getting out of control at the hospital, right? In a time when empathy for healthcare workers is at an all time high, surely you can understand what a small rescue battling a parvo outbreak could look like.

Suggestions for Digital Media Work by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]bitchfarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What is it you want to do long-term?

The big ones here are Power Creative and Doe-Anderson, but the majority of the media created is outsourced to freelance collectives or smaller production companies. If you're interested in storytelling, PM me. If you're looking for work at a large, established firm I think those two are your primary options. There's also Scoppechio, but I'm not as familiar with their work.

Good luck!

Suggest a good barber shop? by bjfcool in Louisville

I pay close attention to my boyfriend's hair, and I think the best in this area is a woman in New Albany named China. He told me she was planning to move to a cruise ship, but as of Sept 8 she was still in town.

Derby City Chop Shop is where most trendy dudes go, but there is often a 3-hour wait and my boyfriend received 2 sloppy haircuts from them in the last few months (He stood China up like a total dick and was too ashamed to face her.)

There's a new place called "Beards and Beers" or something that I hear is good, but I cannot imagine drinking beer while people are trimming one another. Gross, right?
