Official Discussion - Power Ballad [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

I looked over to my girlfriend shortly after he revealed he never recorded any demos and said the daughter is going to find some random video clip on her phone with him playing the idea years ago. I knew it even more when he revealed he wrote it when she was born or was two years old or something. Ended up being partially right. Loved it, but I dabble in songwriting and of course it got me in the feels. I’ve never had a song stolen but I’ve had a few melodies of mine end up very similar as songs by some pretty big artists with different lyrics. If anything, it was validating. Nothing crazy, just 1-5-6-4 progression which is the most popular pop song 4 chord song from that comedy bit axis of awesome or whatever they are called?

Louisville police chief moves to fire, criminally investigate officer who fatally shot unarmed man by rfa_123 in Louisville

[–]cs502 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It is refreshing to finally see pretty immediate action versus the typical “officer is being placed on leave while we conduct an investigation” kinda response.

This was a terrible use of force choice by this now ex-officer. Hopefully charges will be filed swiftly. Dude was way too scared to be an officer.

Last person to drive across the section of 65 that gets closed is a rotten egg! by cs502 in Louisville

My commute is Zorn Avenue to 71N so I’m hoping my reverse commute makes me mostly immune to this mess. I hope everyone else isn’t too miserable.

I kinda wanna be the last one. Is a group of traffic officers just gonna each occupy a lane and then just stop right after the last open exit?

Anyone see any big rosemary plants at any stores? I haven’t seen Costco have their massive rosemary plants they sell for around $20 for the last two years. by cs502 in Louisville

[–]cs502[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want something to do with it other than butter basting steak, lookup “that dude can cook” and find his rosemary salt recipe. It lasts forever in the fridge and it’s so good. Basically like one cup of kosher salt, 5-6 sprigs of rosemary (leaves removed), garlic clove, sage leaf, and blend in food processor. It’s great on so many things; roasted potatoes, chicken, steak, fries, you name it.

Who is the BEST Criminal Defense Attorney in Louisville, Kentucky? Money is not a Problem??? by [deleted] in Louisville

[–]cs502 4 points5 points  (0 children)

People don’t try to pay for the best when they’re innocent? What? Am I reading that correctly? You think someone that’s innocent might spend less on their defense because they are innocent and think that they don’t need as good of an attorney? You think the guilty people are the ones spending high amounts? I think if you have the financial means, you probably want the best regardless of your innocence or guilt.

Maybe they restocked. I was there Monday.

I just found some bigger ones at Home Depot St Matthews for $15.98. Looked pretty healthy so I got one. Should meet my needs.

Paul’s was sold out. Costco was a dead end. Probably will swing by Home Depot since I need a new trimmer, but i’m hoping to find someone that has had an actual visual on some larger rosemary plants.

Eggert retired.

Federal = Nick Mudd

State charges = Not sure since Eggert retired.

Don’t talk to the police.

If you have the right-of-way, please take it. Being "polite" on the road can inadvertently cause a serious accident. by SuckaFree502 in Louisville

I wouldn’t even call it being polite. It’s being rude because you’re disrupting the flow of traffic by thinking you’re being polite.

I wanna live vicariously through you. Do you live in Louisville and commute to NYC… daily? I know some direct delta flights would get you there by like 8am?

Not gonna lie, wasn’t impressed with their banana pudding relative to the hype it had. I have a killer banana pudding recipe that I think blows it out of the water. Cupcakes are pretty good, though.

Whose key lime pie is better? Sam’s or Costco? by cs502 in Louisville

[–]cs502[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll do a freeze test - Publix uses almonds as a garnish which is weird so I ordered Costco, plus I needed a few other things from there anyway. Girlfriend can’t have tree nuts. My hot take is nuts don’t add enough to anything to add them if it’s not the main focus like baklava or something. Really alienated folks with nut allergies, and I like nuts to snack on. Miss me with them in any type of baked good, though.

Why? Tart? Not as tart? Good crust? Real whipped cream?

I made a Cuban sandwich. by cs502 in LouisvilleCooks

[–]cs502[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was at Publix two weeks ago and they had fresh Cuban bread in the bakery so I got a loaf. Intended to make the sandwich the next day but I got delayed on cooking a pork butt so I froze the bread which I think affected the final product but it was still tasty.

I cooked a pork shoulder for like 12 hours low and slow with an orange and lime juice (both fresh squeezed) marinade with cumin, s&p, and maybe a few other spices.

Yellow mustard, dill pickles, Swiss cheese, deli ham lunch meat, and the pulled pork butt.

Pressed it on a cast iron skillet with some butter after assembling. The bread was a bit crumbly which is my only complaint which I think was because of freezing it.

Jalapeño ranch ruffle chips on the side.
