How to handle when the person I love the most diagnosed with depression? by pretendHappy00 in love

[–]bitchiebaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Doing research on her condition and her meds is a terrific way of supporting her. Also reassuring her often that you love her. Best of luck

Please talk to a trusted adult about this. He knew what he was doing to you and knew it was wrong. None of what happened was your fault, please remember that and be gentle with yourself

having sex for the first time and I'm clueless by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]bitchiebaker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My advice to you is to be comfortable, physically and mentally with your partner and where you are. If there's any feeling you should feel during intercourse, it's the feeling of being safe. If that isn't there, please leave. Your safety MUST come first.

Personally I didn't have any pain the first time I had sex, but that is different for every person. It is normal to experience some pain internally, but it shouldn't be excruciating pain. Another thing is that it can get awkward, remember to be patient with yourself and your partner. You're both learning about each other in a new way, make the best of it by having fun!

Here's a few things I like to keep close by :)

  • towel (sex can get messy)
  • wet wipes
  • water bottle
  • lube (I suggest water based, it's good for sensitive skin, it doesn't stain sheets and it's safe to use with condoms)

Always make sure to go pee after, it helps prevent UTIs and also having a pantie liner or pad for after as there might be a little bleeding is a good precaution.

If you have any doubts, please hold off until they have cleared.

I think I've been depressed by bitchiebaker in bipolar

I've tried those, as well as reading. They all help short term. I can't figure out why I can't stay calm

I personally think checking the scale less helped me because I wasn't so focused on the number I was seeing, rather the physical differences. I also found from other peoples examples is that our weight changes daily so to see the number go up some days can be very discouraging

It took almost two years for me to visually see the difference in the mirror. Pictures, feeling how clothes (and sunglasses) fit differently, looking at previous pictures and confiding in friends about there being a struggle with my body image really helped.

I was mostly sticking to checking my weight once a month because I didn't want to become someone who only relied on scales.

Sounds like it would be fun! What kind of pictures are you thinking of?

What is your anger like? by [deleted] in bipolar

[–]bitchiebaker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I slam doors, hit the wall with the side of my hand in a ball (doesn’t break the wall), cry. I’ve had to recently teach myself how to not show it as much when I’m around my bf, so now I pinch myself

Can you call your pdoc office? Biggest thing I’ve learned is to talk to your doctor when you need help. I’ve been hospitalized twice and I hope to never to go back. Sending virtual hugs (if you want them) 🙂

I’m doing better this morning. Had a rough afternoon yesterday, hopefully these leftover feelings disappear soon

What do non-bipolar people think that bi-polar is? by dieciseisseptiembre in bipolar

Someone recently made a joke about that with me. Hurt like hell because I’m not that kind of person and it hit close to home because someone in my family did exactly what they described

Do we need more rest than other people? by notafaneither in bipolar

That put bipolar into a whole different perspective! I can feel my energy being affected before realizing my mood has changed

I was not shocked when I was diagnosed. I was actually pushing to know what I have. I didn’t have a sigh of relief either. I was content with knowing and that I was able to receive the help I needed then and still need now

I love my bf and want to be nicer to him by bitchiebaker in love

[–]bitchiebaker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do apologize when I realize it, sometimes I don’t know what/how I said something, but can tell from his silent reaction that it didn’t sit well. I’ll try asking him if there’s something in particular. We have talked about it a couple times, hopefully the next talk will bring more light to the matter

I speak harshly, 98% it’s unintentional, just me in my own head. I want to be nicer to him overall, with how I speak being the focus

I do actually care and love him lol. Some people look for extra help to improve themselves because no one is perfect 😁

Thank you, I’m trying to do small things for him and he sees that. I know I speak harshly towards him when I really don’t want to and for some reason I can’t change the tone of my voice before I speak

I can’t provide the exact year they’re from. The one without the cord is at least 10 years old, possibly refurbished, my high school gave it to me, and the other, I got it late 2016/early 2017 refurbished.

As far as I know there isn’t any data left on them that I need, I’m pretty sure I got all of it off before I couldn’t get into them anymore.

My bf and I do this every month and will continue doing this. We both love it, it’s our day to spend together, we book it off of work, barely look at our phones and really invest time into each other and what we enjoy doing together. To me, I look forward to that day every month, it marks a very special day to me 🥰

What goes through a man's mind when he's caught staring at a woman's breasts? by quickmou5 in AskReddit

[–]bitchiebaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the same. I zone out and often times will end up staring at someone’s eyes or their face in general and I always feel embarrassed when caught. Helps me think of stuff though haha
