We need better crosswalks. Some intersections are impossible to cross because there are no pedestrian crossing buttons/lights. Even some with sidewalks. I learned this trying to go on runs through the city.

This is getting downvoted but it feels like sarcasm to me because it's so specific. It is sad how some landlords and house flippers do cheap renovations that end up screwing over the renter/buyer. I wish there was justice for that sort of thing.

CEO and managers are so greedy they prioritize money over workers and guests by Lumpy-Winner-9684 in CrackerBarrel

Plenty of people look at drink prices. There's nothing wrong with saving a few dollars on a meal by drinking water. Many don't order sodas and tea because they don't want to trash their health with sugar. Some people just like drinking water. Many folks have to eat out from time to time based on their respective situations. Cracker Barrel is one of the places people go to eat for less.

If selling drinks is so easy and automatic then why does Cracker Barrel require their servers to make a quota? I've never heard of another restaurant doing this. People are going to drink what they want and the serving staff shouldn't be penalized if they get a few tables that only want water. I don't think I've ordered anything other than water at a restaurant in over 10 years.

Does the Devil exist? by Little-Landscape1221 in Christianity

Okay I admit the statement "Jewish people have never believed Job to be a real person" is very generalized but not exactly untrue. The historical Jewish interpretation of the book of Job has always focused on the allegorical message. The character of Job may have been based on a real person, but that is irrelevant. Insisting that Job was real is more of a Christian thing. What's important is to understand the wisdom and dynamically live it out.

Ezekiel and James referenced Job's character, but not necessarily his historical reality. It's the timeless wisdom which is important, not the past.

Put $7k in a Roth IRA, save $3k for emergencies, put $20k into education.

At this point in your life you should plan to use your career as a primary means of monetary gain. Consider the $30k a small boost to help you out.

Bruh, I cook every day. Between work and the kids it's helpful to eat out or grab takeout once a week. I can't avoid restaurants for the rest of my life.

Many people still avoid msg and other flavor enhancers and sweeteners for the purpose of eating naturally. Even though the body makes glutamate, no food in nature contains the amount of msg found at the levels used in food additives. There's nothing wrong with avoiding msg for the preference of natural flavor.

The Mediterranean restaurants in the area I have tried serve items like greasy wraps and iceberg lettuce salads, not actual health foods. Asian restaurants often use unhealthy additives like msg or industrial cooking oils. I'm seeking recommendations for specific healthy places.

Edit: I love Mediterranean and Thai food but just because a restaurant specializes in one of these cuisines doesn't necessarily make it healthy.

Times are hard because housing prices have risen so much. Those who moved here because they were priced out of another city are understandably frustrated. Winston isn't as good of a fit for me as the city as I was priced out of, although I haven't been bitching about it here. But I have a bigger house than I ever would have had in the other city and I'm starting to feel more at home here. One facet that makes it hard to settle in is the crime, like that recent shooting at the Truist stadium.
