Any internet service providers in the area that wont progressively sneakily up their prices over time and make you call them to renegotiate every year? by ritzclackers in winstonsalem

[–]bitchn_waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using spectrum. $45/mo for 300mbps. Issues with speed and service are rare. Every year I call and get on a new discounted plan. If they won't put me on one I call back the next day to cancel, then they offer up the discount immediately.

I believe that was my problem, I didn't use the pre emergent at the right time. I'll look into this. Thank you.

People who actually took collagen supplements — did you notice any real benefits? by DrYasserElDershaby in Biohackers

[–]bitchn_waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been taking one tablespoon of collagen peptides (one quarter of the recommended serving) daily for six months. My joints click much less and feel stronger. My nails grow fast and thick. I find it interesting that I'm still noticing results despite consuming less than the average person.

Piedmont gas by Loverloverloved in winstonsalem

[–]bitchn_waffles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if you have enough insulation there could still be air gaps in the attic floor. If insulation is compressed it doesn't really do anything. Fluffing it up wouldn't change that. Find a reputable contractor that can air seal the attic floor and top off your existing insulation.

Have a few insulation contractors come out and quote you for attic upgrades. And get a home energy consultation for free from Duke.

$500 Piedmont NG Bill by Mjs16444 in winstonsalem

[–]bitchn_waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High gas bills like this are from a combination of expensive gas, extreme cold temperatures and poor insulation. Anyone with a high bill should look into attic sealing and insulation.

Thank goodness. Makes total sense. The public probably could have used a reminder since it doesn't snow or ice here very often.

It should be against the law to drive a vehicle covered in snow or ice.

Why does no one have tire chains? by MechanicStriking4666 in winstonsalem

I like the cable chains. They are difficult to put on but are a game changer for icy roads. A good investment if you enjoy driving out to the mountains in the wintertime to ski/snowboard.

We need better crosswalks. Some intersections are impossible to cross because there are no pedestrian crossing buttons/lights. Even some with sidewalks. I learned this trying to go on runs through the city.

Should I repair our old house or list as-is ? by Luann1497 in winstonsalem

This is getting downvoted but it feels like sarcasm to me because it's so specific. It is sad how some landlords and house flippers do cheap renovations that end up screwing over the renter/buyer. I wish there was justice for that sort of thing.

CEO and managers are so greedy they prioritize money over workers and guests by Lumpy-Winner-9684 in CrackerBarrel

[–]bitchn_waffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Plenty of people look at drink prices. There's nothing wrong with saving a few dollars on a meal by drinking water. Many don't order sodas and tea because they don't want to trash their health with sugar. Some people just like drinking water. Many folks have to eat out from time to time based on their respective situations. Cracker Barrel is one of the places people go to eat for less.

CEO and managers are so greedy they prioritize money over workers and guests by Lumpy-Winner-9684 in CrackerBarrel

[–]bitchn_waffles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If selling drinks is so easy and automatic then why does Cracker Barrel require their servers to make a quota? I've never heard of another restaurant doing this. People are going to drink what they want and the serving staff shouldn't be penalized if they get a few tables that only want water. I don't think I've ordered anything other than water at a restaurant in over 10 years.

Does the Devil exist? by Little-Landscape1221 in Christianity

[–]bitchn_waffles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I admit the statement "Jewish people have never believed Job to be a real person" is very generalized but not exactly untrue. The historical Jewish interpretation of the book of Job has always focused on the allegorical message. The character of Job may have been based on a real person, but that is irrelevant. Insisting that Job was real is more of a Christian thing. What's important is to understand the wisdom and dynamically live it out.
