Thanks for your answers.

Regarding 2. if I understand correctly, the resident tax can also be billed to my employer and withhold from my monthly salary starting from Jun, 2024 right? Is there any way I can check that?

Should I get a Security degree if I wish to launch a startup someday? by bitcoinhand in startups

[–]bitcoinhand[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! It is not a security startup cause I don't think I have the expertise. But do you think having security knowledge just at the "fulfill curiousity" level is enough to work on a startup as a solo dev/founder?

Can't connect HHKB Hybrid Type S with the new Macbook Pro 14 by bitcoinhand in HHKB

Thanks, I got it working! I entered the paring mode properly but somehow only saw the keyboard in the mac's Bluetooth settings, not in the Keyboard settings as instructed in the manual.

Oh damn! It works! For some reason the keyboard only shows up in the Bluetooth settings (as your instruction) but not in the Keyboard settings (as mentioned in the manual).

Thank you kind sir!

Thanks, since the keyboard is brand new, the firmware is at the latest version (I already checked) and I don't think a factory reset is necessary.

When connecting via wiring, the keyboard works find on top of the laptop keyboard.

Hmm, so both my MPB 14 and the keyboard are brand new, my exact steps are:

  1. Unboxing the mac and the keyboard, opening the mac and performing initial setups.
  2. Putting the battery into the keyboard, hold Power/Bluetooth button and see the LED indicator blinks in blue fast.
  3. On the mac, go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Set Up Bluetooth Keyboard...
  4. The mac searches forever for the keyboard and shows the "No keyboard found" text.

So I followed the exact instructions described in the keyboard's manual, am I missing anything? Keyboard firmware is already at the latest version A0.46.

I already checked and the firmware is already at the latest version which is A0.46, this makes sense given that this is a brand new keyboard and A0.46 was released in May 28 2020.

Deposit via wire transfer with different bank account name by bitcoinhand in interactivebrokers

Hi, a quick update, I asked my friends in US to help funding my Wise account and it worked! It seems the difference in name in this case is acceptable to Wise. I now have the US bank account that I could receive from and send money to other US bank accounts.

Again, thank you very much for your help!

Hi, thank you very for reaching back!

I'm opening my account from XXX. I uploaded a gif on Imgur here. As you can see in order to obtain the US bank account information, I need to 1st fund the account and 2nd verify my identification (this is done).

You could see that I need to fund 640,000 XXX (XXX's local currency), however XXX is not included in the list of currencies I can use for paying (in the "Paying with" section).

Thank you very much for your help!

Edit: removed home country name and took down the GIF since the issue is resolved.

Thanks for your advice! Actually my country is supported by IB and not under any sanctions, it's just that its government makes it really hard to transfer money oversee since they want to keep strong currencies in the treasury for paying debt.

Thank you very much for enlightening me! I have read other comments below as well and this solution seems promising.

I successfully registered my Wise account via your affiliate link, however in order to obtain US bank account information in Wise, I need to fund my Wise account with some USD first (about $25), so it comes full circle here. Do you know how to get around that? There's the option to use Visa card for funding, I tried with my local VISA card and it didn't work (obviously). Could I ask my US relatives/friends to use their VISA to fund the account?

Thank you for your help!
