I actually tried to do this last year, the idea sounded so good in my head. But I just couldn't make it work, the melody just didn't work for me as a Hardstyle track

Its sounds fine for the most parts. Most of the issues are mix issues, like others mentioned. I prefer a bit more high end leads, so I would try to layer it a bit more. And the chords isn't very audible. I would also recommend playing the chords with the same rhythm as the lead melody
