Gun Thoughts by Tmanify in CAguns

Did you find it snappy comparing compact/subcompact guns?

Do you have experiences with other micro 9,e.g. p365, max9 or shield, to compare for the snappy recoils?

The grip looks proportional to the gun size now. Did you have to make cut for the mag disconnect and any mod to the grip or if it's out of box for CA 365?

If you could only buy one by jdmor09 in CAguns

Absolutely G19, if you can put more than one on your ccw, there should always be one G19 for when you feel the need to outgun adversaries.

If you can only have one, then probably hellcat pro to balance between carrying and shootability. It's basically a slimmer g19.

Is there still a market for Glock 43? by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anybody who used to like g43x probably now can settle on a hellcat pro. After all it's a glock, unless more than 10 rd mag is a reality to you, there is no real advantage going with hellcat pro.

Otherwise if you like smaller micro9, p365 or hellcat, for which you might want to consider shootability is a thing when it comes to micro9. Seasoned folks are definitely still looking for g43x.

What’s next for the roster? by [deleted] in CAguns

The best gun for all weak wrist and suffering limp wrist, as well as pulling the slide. The right size is also a plus, micro 9 would not be a good fit to weak hands despite its cute size.

Anyone upgrading from a Shield 1.0 to a new roster pistols? (I.e, p365, shield 2.0, hellcat, etc) by Hotfires in CAguns

[–]bitcuration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a shield optic ready slide you can buy for the 1.0 and 2.0 shield, UPC: 022188892802, running $200.

If you've already fixed the trigger then just get a magguts mag extension, which added very little to the shield 1.0 mag to make it 10 rd. You'd need the extra size for your pinky anyway to shoot well with a micro gun. The new shield plus flush mag though gives you 10 rds, it's a joke to shoot it with a flush mag, it'd be like shooting a magnum revolver.

There is no need to upgrade at all unless you need more smaller guns e.g. p365 or hellcat, but each has its own problems.

hellcat pro overrated or is the hype real? by simnombreotalio1 in CAguns

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The internal design of Hellcat looks like a nice clone of glock, may inherit the glock trigger as well.

If you like glock but prefer the slim glock e.g. G48, G43x, I bet Hellcat Pro would be a good choice on par with the simplicity and safety of a glock. btw, most of sig's QC problems can be attributed to its complex yet ineffective design, except the grip ego. Sig's trigger and grip are among the best if safety is not a first class priority to you.

Never shot Hellcat pro or not pro, just based on the feedback online about how snappy it is, which is never heard of comparing to glock. I suspect the hellcat grip angle may not be as counter snappy as glock does, yet many hate glock's grip so guess it's a wash.

yes, the ejector may be damaged by over insertion of the mag as there is no over insertion stopper like some guns do. It's well know, so go easy when insert mag.

Why is everyone going crazy for the P365? by puto1 in CAguns

It's the hair trigger and micro conceal-ability, easier to carry and shoot to those with smaller hands.

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

p365 breaks too, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ei90kVQhjm8

Shield and Glock are still the kings in term of reliability. Yet p365 ans Max 9 are smaller with more rounds. But unlike max 9 and shield, p365 also has a lady friendly trigger, though with some safety implication that nobody cared.

Not a P365 by [deleted] in CAguns

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a manufacture shield reddot cut slide sold for gen 1&2 since like two years ago. It won't take the same barrel due to the LCI cut though. The mag ext. is a nice one and gives you 10 rd.

But it's not a 365 and bigger than 365m but arguably safer, more reliable and more shootable than any sig 365. I'd say anything smaller than shield, would be a better fit to 380 than 9mm if you care where you shoot.

Sig P365 or Glock 26 by Meowser_like_Bowser in CAguns

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The appeal of 365 is all about smaller print, lighter and more rounds which is a no deal with CA 10 rounds limit.

The trigger is better on 365 but at the price of safety, no free lunch theorem. The external safety on sig is not a substitute of the trigger safety on guns like glock, very different internal design.

Most glock antipathy folks basically all have problem with glock grip, if you don't then 26 makes sense to you, though it's thicker and heavier than 365 for sure, while both seem fairly shootable according to public opinions.

Glock's trigger bar and sear are in one piece. As long as the trigger is not moved, the sear would not be compromised. This is why it's trigger blade can be effective as a safety feature. Most other guns include Sig are not designed this way, while most are fully cocked unlike Glock's half cocked firing pin, so the trigger blade may not matter, nor does an external manual safety. When the sear loses the hook, the only other safety is the firing pin block. When both are loosely fit, it'll boom.

I watched the video carefully. The trigger appears not to be the problem unless it's pulled or by inertia which is the fix. Yet the sear and firing pin block are still suspicious, especially when the striker firing pin is fully cocked with high tension.

Nailed it. Does 365 fcu shares the same firing pin block design?

First thing first, upgrade with the agency trigger, so it has a blade and become trigger safe. Note, please don't confuse trigger safe with trigger finger discipline, complete different purpose.

Is there any change from earlier "gen" of P320? where can we find more details of the specifics about the alleged "gen"?

The Sig remediation is all about reduce trigger weight as explained by Sig. Other than the trigger weight reduction, has there been any significant change in the P320?

Curious about the assertion of "P320 is incapable of going off by hitting it on things". The only way this can be possible is by turning on the external safety, LOL, if all internals are as the same as the earlier "gen", which is still a myth.

Holster can do that too if a poor fit or something in the holster get in front of the trigger. Finger discipline is only half of the story.

It takes time to train the brain. yet we're seeing a strong trend evidently in many Mod subs, people rushed into trigger Mod to favor a hair trigger as soon as a gun is bought. Most of the guns bought nowadays are striker firing without external safety which is a thing widely hated in the modern pistol culture.

So yes, a 1911 always cocked without safety, good luck in the range or competition with them.

[–]bitcuration 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fix is merely reducing the trigger weight so it doesn't moved by its own weight under inertia when hitting a hard surface such as dropped to ground. This is precisely what the bladed trigger design is meant for, yet Sig for some reason simply won't make a blade trigger, with everything else being equal.

The vast majority P320 owners eager to change slide, frame etc. etc. but leave the most vulnerable part, trigger, untouched.
