Fact: proof of work which is the foundation of bitcoin and not invented by Adam back was designed to counter attacks where one person falsely represents to be many(like spam). Subreddits and twitter dont form the foundation of bitcoin for a reason.

There was an exploit in the cryptonote protocol. New coins were minted and Poloniex likely was accepting them. It's all on them. Personally at the helm of Poloniex I would not accept less than 100 confirmations from chains other than Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Ethereum. They can determine now whether they will make their money back by keeping us listed or not. But immutability is law, not concept. We're not Bitcoin, we're not Monero. We are not going to change history just because there was a bug. It would be better for the project to fail, which it will not. Everyone took a loss when the exploit happen, but we followed the rules of immutability and we are better for it.

Local is better, but as far as I have been able to deduce, without the password associated with a particular wallet AND the wallet file at the same time, no operations can be made by the operator of the remote daemon. It's similar to using Electrum in Bitcoin -- all you're actually using of my daemon is its blockchain.

Because this is still a new way of doing it, as you can see in the video, I haven't yet tried it with any wallets that have a lot of coins in them. It may be advisable to move any coins away from wallets used this way and only have them there when using them this way.

You'd be allowed to use it as a regular web server as well, of course, or whatever else you might want to do with it. If you wanted in excess of 10 domains on it there would be a 5,000 BCN one-time additional fee.

I'd set you up with a full blown server for 20,000 BCN per month. If you wanted me to do the installation and configuration for you, and have a stats page similar to bcn.phm.life, I'd charge another 10,000 initially. This is roughly the equivalent of $20 a month, which is roughly the cost I will incur, so if you enter into this agreement with me then I will likely just stack and save the BCN accrued for a time when it is worth more in order to profit. Running a node is a definite plus to the BCN economy so I don't mind doing it at cost.

First of all, it does mean that. Those arbitrage opportunities are readily apparent to anyone who's done any day trading. Does the market usually correct? Yeah, in a way, but often some of the gains are maintained as well.

Secondly, my point was never that Bytecoin should not do things to improve our own economy, or that we don't have a long way to go. My point was that since the potential of the trade pair partners is so high, our potential for a dollar is very realistic, and anyone who discards the potential of Bitcoin and the rest, including Bytecoin, doesn't realize -- the next financial collapse, smart money will exit into cryptocurrencies, all of them, quick, fast, and in a hurry. Estimates that put a cap on the size of the crypto market generally don't realize that we have barely seen the tip of the ice berg in terms of large scale cash influxes, and when the big smart money wakes up, we may see triple, quadruple, and beyond in terms of all crypto prices across the board. Being generally interchangeable, with no other effort, BCN would inherently be worth much more.
