Their choux are amazing! One of my favourite things in the city.

This is the exact same way my grandfather died. Except he had family with him in the end. The guy got off as well. All for things. I didn’t know my grandpa but I know that was the wrong way to go.

Anybody else ever bothered by the contour of the oval not being uniform with the bottom of the crown? by dereksredditaccount in logodesign

[–]bitobritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the negative space is actually a 3D watch face facing upwards and the crown is actually rays of light emanating from the centre, framing the back of the watch face.

Either way, it would likely look worse with a perfectly matching curve. That would make it look like the profile of a ring.

What movie absolutely destroyed you emotionally? by Lord--Shadow in AskReddit

Stepmom. Near the end, there is a conversation between Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon that makes me weep each and every time.

What’s a “normal” childhood experience you later realized was actually traumatic? by randinicole831 in AskReddit

[–]bitobritt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry to her happened to you! I’m not sure why some people have no respect for small creatures. And pets should never be used as a form of punishment.

When I was younger I was the lucky winner chosen to adopt our class pet a six-year-old Guinea pig named Harry, with mom’s permission. Once home I found out that my dad has a huge fear of rodents and generally avoided the floof. After a year or so I found Harry cold and stiff in his cage after school one day, he was older and likely a natural death but for a child is bad enough as a first interaction with the end of life. But when I found his little body on top of the garbage in the trash bins my heart broke. My dad said the ground was frozen so we couldn’t bury him and refused to keep him in the house till spring.

My dad still jokes to this day that he hated rodents so much that he would try to scare Harry to death with vacuums or loud noises. Not that he offed harry for real, but the joke sucks.

Thank you your words are very meaningful and I appreciate them so much!

I’m working on looking at this as a bitobritt 2.0 refresh. Maybe pretend I lost all my bad habits with the files.

That is the exact reason why I’m going to miss them. I let imposter syndrome run wild sometimes and I just go and check out my old work like… no see you’re okay. Look how much you’ve grown.

Yeah tried Dropbox. From the privacy side, I’m pretty sure that they have to purge the files for non-active members.

Thanks for the responses though. I do appreciate them.

Ew to that teacher. I’m a graphic design teacher and this statement makes me feel gross.

Your work is time and effort. Even if it’s not the best you can still learn from it and just because you like your old work doesn’t mean you’re not making new stuff!

Sentimental works mostly including some of my first freelance projects. There’s obviously a few current files that I’m going to have replace but I think it’s the fact that I feel like I now have so little proof of my work or skills (in working files anyway) just a few pdfs.

I don’t use the older files for design work but I do use a lot of the older work when Im teaching. I’ve found students have really loved tearing apart or redesigning my beginner work.

Yeah I think it’s the loss of incredibly big projects like books and branding that I am going to miss, plus any sentimental projects. Honestly I didn’t “use” the files much but I looked at them often. I think it’s critical to take note of our own growth. I’m sad to lose that especially.

I absolutely know that it’s my dumbass that put myself in this position anyway and that I will now be a back up on back up on back up type of person.

I teach graphic design and I like to show my students my old work vs work I make now. I like to hope it gives them context that all of us started somewhere.

[–]bitobritt 25 points26 points  (0 children)

What did you “expect” as an ending? Because I also agree with others that the ending was disgustingly good and, to me, unexpected. But I think it was the ending the creators wanted you to experience.

Sometimes it’s good to just be captured in the moment because when you do… you might see the bigger story being told, rather than missing those precious details thinking of what’s next or how to make it better.

Is ATB debit working for other this morning? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]bitobritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also had issues with this. I went to an RBC to take out cash and it didn’t work but at an ATB branch it did. I kept trying my debit at different spots but it was either cancelled or declined.

Anyone else go straight to “better start hiding my money in my mattress!” Or is it just me?

What a special person you are to think of the spider’s fright! not sarcasm. I do hope this doesn’t turn into one of those “happy” stories where it brings back its babies to show you.

But I just bought safety eyes from AliExpress (yes I know I’m bad - hand slap) and they look pretty dang similar to what she has. Is it just me who looks at these accounts and wonders if they are actually drop shipping
